WIP sketch I did during a flight!! The motion is super simple/straight forward so want to take this a lot further and work on the animation then possibly render each frame :>

Mini Post Grad Update - I got back to LA a few weeks ago after a lot of valuable fam time and have been really enjoying learning new skills and refining some other ones. Yea, looking at LinkedIn and job postings for every waking hour of the day was NOT it despite all the pressure around job-hunting. SOOOO I’ve been saving some time for other creative work like taking courses through @antigravityacademy Indie Institute program learning more about the filmmaking business, getting into plein air painting/gouache which has been sooo fun, and spending time working with friends through writing/music/and etc. I’ve been finding that having a balance of job apps work, learning, and reserving other projects for leisure/enjoyment has been fulfilling. So excited for the projects I’ve been working on and seeing where they go! 🌒

To put it out there - currently looking for work either part or full! Prioritizing opportunities in stop motion and writing/story especially but am open to other roles within animation and film. Any leads would be appreciated <333 by @oddjreem

sang a quick cover of “Voyager” by boygenius 🌏

I haven’t sat down and sang in months, every time I feel like I’m crashing out it’s usually bc I haven’t sang in a while.

I wrote/composed a TON of songs during college and I don’t really know what to do with them lol. Maybe I’ll scatter them around future projects or record them fully or they’ll just live forever in my files idk. I’ve only rlly shown them to close friends or performed a couple here and there. Some of them are funny to listen back on but there are others where maybe revisiting those ideas will be fun? We’ll see ig by @oddjreem

a lil pleinair for the end of April :D

Haven’t painted in forever so kept things simple. I’ve been spending post grad mostly with family between Bay Area and Philippines and this Friday I fly back to LA (and dial in on job/internship hunting ahhh). Gonna be so homesick for the views of dead yellow grass. Went mulberry picking the other day and was just happily window watching (ran out of time for cherries, strawberries, and pie ;-;). Valley views are always so comforting because they remind me of family drives to fruit picking, the beaches, or to Filipino parties that were two hours away.

some bts ✨

Got a lot of questions on how we animated the water for “Salamat Nay”. We used a combination of hair gel, plastic wrap (for running water), and plastic stuffing we’d shred into small pieces for the waves! In the trailer you can see we used mirrored paper for the surface where as for the beach, we opted for clear acrylic so that we’d we be able to add some depth with the sea floor. 🌊🪨

Def learned a lot about water animation inbtwn the prod of the trailer vs the film (spent a lot of time visiting beaches)

Initially I thought of slime just bc it’s so malleable and fun to mess with lol, but slime gets yucky overtime whereas hair gel was cleaner + super budget friendly for us 😌 by @oddjreem

“For Whirl’s Friends” playlist is public! Link in my story highlights with the interview uploaded tmrw on my website 🖤

🌀 This idea stemmed from a want to do something creative and a bit more light after spending a few years working on some intense and dramatic projects. I always make playlists for each project and planning one for this specific character was sooo fun. When I first fabricated Whirl- all I could rlly think about was what music would Whirl listen to. In the character bio, I mentioned Whirl had a playlist but only shared it with close friends. Then I realized I never actually shared said playlist with anyone hahah, so here it is and I hope u enjoyyy :> by @oddjreem
