Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Center holds a special place in my heart. I was so thankful to have this special time with mom and the boys! After a dynamic 4 years...this is 1 of the first times I was able to truly be 💯 present with them! So thankful for this day and more to come! #cadenpatrickweloveyou #thankful #woodfordcedarrunwildliferefuge #purejoy by @odealynn

A picture is worth 1,000 words or in this case leaves you speechless.

The last 2 months have been difficult as 2 of my buddies retired.

We have served alongside eachother for 16-20 years. We have spent approximately 624-780 hours of our lives alongside eachother working to complete the same mission. Which seems like a lot however, there are many more hours in those years we were apart.

So why...why does it feel like my heart is different, why does a piece of my service feel different.

We have watched each other grow, become parents, were a shoulder and ear through many life challenges and consistently showed up for one another. I hope and pray they got the same comfort when they look at me that I got from them. I believe we were comforted by the consistency of our characters and the main theme that resides in each of our smiles and in our hearts...an overwhelming desire to CARE for one another and our Soldiers!

There is a piece that feels empty because our bonds are built on rapid trust, forced proximity, shared hardships, uniformity and a dedication to lifelong loyalty. This bond forms fast and is stronger than most others. You live your civilian lives while simultaneously serving your country there isn't time to mess with the insignificant distractions. You show up, do the right things, build your team and you take care of those around you. Anything less will sacrifice the mission no matter how great or how small.

And when you are lucky enough to start with a team like this you desire to create that for others!
(There are many others who are/were part of this team but, currently back together at the MEDDET...it's us, missing a few)

Thankful for this team and the strength they have provided throughout of Service! by @odealynn

My 2 most beautiful blessings!

Fiona and Caden are spending this week at one of our favorite places...Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge! Fiona's 6th year and Caden's 2nd.

Fiona, Caden and I started Refuge mornings while I was on maternity leave with Caden in 2020. Fiona wanted to make friends and I wanted to get our little crew into the world.

No matter the weather we were there under the pavilion with the most beautiful people and new friends. Reading a story, doing a craft and getting to visit with an animal! Caden was a little peanut in a carrier and Fiona was a bright bubbly 3 year old looking to make friends!

Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge was our refuge during this time!!

So thankful to Mom-Mom who found them for us!

Fiona's next adventure! Orthodontist.

We started a year ago and spent this year awaiting her front 4 teeth to grow in. Next up, face mask for 6 months. Trying to be optimistic and positive. We are interested in friends who have been down the face mask path and they strategies for coping and results!
