Where does a landscape end and abstraction begin?In the work of Aron Hill, familiar elements are distilled into bold forms and imagined environments. ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: FRANK HIFFERNANFrank Hiffernan creates hand-forged steel sculptures that move between abstraction and representation, transforming familiar subjects into expressive, larger-than-life forms.Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Hiffernan was introduced to drawing, painting, sculpture, and colour theory at an early age through his family’s commercial advertising studio. After initially pursuing studies in biology and medicine, he ultimately returned to art with extraordinary intensity, beginning his professional sculptural practice in 2023 using found metal and materials sourced from his surroundings.Frank Hiffernan now lives and works from his studio in Iowa, where he creates large-scale and monumental sculpture for public, private, and corporate collections.Explore Frank Hiffernan’s available work on oenogallery.com. Nearly three decades in the making... William McElcheran’s monumental sculpture 'The Business Man II – Endangered Species Group' has arrived at Oeno Gallery.Created in plaster in 1998, it was among the final sculptures William McElcheran created before his death in 1999. The plaster was exhibited in Milan but remained unrealized in bronze for nearly three decades until finally in 2026 the patina was finished and the sculpture was brought to completion.One of Canada’s most celebrated figurative sculptors, McElcheran was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy and is renowned for his iconic “Businessman” figures—monumental, sharply observed characters that transformed an ordinary symbol of modern life into something deeply human, humorous and psychologically complex. His work can be found in prominent public, private and corporate collections across Canada and internationally.Standing over life-size at 80 inches tall, The Business Man II explores one of the central ideas within McElcheran’s practice: the tension between our inner selves and the carefully constructed identities we present to the world.Now on view at Oeno Gallery and available for acquisition.
