Design Vancouver Festival kicks off on Sept 17 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre with Opening Night: PechaKucha Edition.

FOR THE LOVE OF CRAFT
This year’s theme explores the care, process, skill and devotion behind work that matters. Through PechaKucha’s 20 images × 20 seconds format, each speaker will take us beyond the finished work and share the thinking and process behind it.

Join us on Sept 17 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre as @designvanfest opens with a special edition of PechaKucha Night.⁠

For the Love of Craft⁠
This year’s Opening Night is centred around For the Love of Craft, a theme exploring the care, process, skill, and devotion it takes to make work that matters.⁠
⁠
Rather than presenting a broad portfolio, each speaker will focus on one project, idea, or aspect of their practice. Through the PechaKucha format of 20 images × 20 seconds, they will take us beyond the finished work and into the materials, decisions, challenges, experimentation, and breakthroughs behind it.⁠

Honoured to receive the City of Vancouver Award of Excellence – Vibrant Vancouver Award.

This recognition isn’t just mine — it belongs to the public, our creative community, and everyone who believes in making this city more vibrant. 💛

Seven months ago, I was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative and her2 positive breast cancer. Standing on this stage feels so surreal. The future is uncertain, but there is hope — always hope.
