You’ve gone away again…

Summer’s peaked and leaving, and with it, the warm air that envelopes like a hug from home. The air is cooler, the lights are lingering on the hills, and the nights are stretching into respite; all into a space in-between.

I don’t like when life becomes too quick to consume. I’ll catch you on the slower side upon my return šŸ«¶šŸ¼ by @ofcryptsandclassics

Want to enjoy a slow morning with me? 🌊

Catch me up on what you’re reading šŸ“–
I’ve seen some recommendations floating around on new and uprising series; what are your thoughts?

It feels strange, observing people. Know they have full lives of emotion, decision, regret, love, pain that is universal but uniquely theirs in their suffering. Choosing to love despite anything is perhaps my greatest tether to humanity. It’s so irrational and yet, can be captured in the soft chords from Debussy serenading the moon.

Come find me in the elegant intoxication of the night. Between the intimacy of Baroque details, soft candlelight, deep perfume notes of petrichor and amber, and philosophical conversation.

In pursuit of quieting the mind, I’ve turned to Tennyson’s thoughts and practicing chess openings.
I’ve been enjoying the late evenings at the symphony, celebrating family birthdays, and feeling inspired once again.

I’ve loved catching up with some of you šŸ¤ I appreciate your friendships xx

This, or nothing…

There is such beauty when our souls meet the precipice of another. When understanding meets vulnerability without having to explain away our past. When recognition pulls on the familiar strings of the word love that is so beautifully and carelessly given away.

The monsters in literature have always represented the human condition, for me. The ugliness in depth that many shy away from because being that vulnerable means to be seen, and to be seen is to be judged. But the monsters, they accept the world for as it is and move with merciless grace, unforgiving of the way they present themselves; as true emotions.

There is beauty in tragedy because life in itself is a tragedy. A messy, confusing, wondrous, frustrating, pleasurable, comical, admirable, devastating tragedy.

This, or nothing at all…

Life lately šŸ¤

It seems that working on your novel is the thing to do these days. I decided long ago that these words will only belong to me and now I’m 26 chapters deep into the psychology of obsession and worship.

Reading again with thoughts from James Baldwin, Giovanni’s Room, ā€œyou will go home and then you will find that home is not home anymore. Then you will really be in trouble. As long as you stay here, you can always think: One day I will go home.ā€

I’m constantly plagued with melancholic nostalgia in remembering the magic of childhood and how burdened adult life can be.

Saturday January 10th • Today, Observed

Started the morning at a cafe and opened Moby Dick for the first time. It’s a restless meditation of unease.

Something in me tends toward the abyss and books are where I go to negotiate with it.

With the abyss already in Ishmael, I have a tender fondness towards his character.

The day carried on to a film museum, smiling at a tree, antique browsing, and dressing shopping for my sister šŸ¤

I wanted to write something profound today. Something to signify entering 2026. But my mind is silent and body is relaxed as I cozy up with a book, and the rain gently taps on the windows outside.

I’m grateful for the friends I’ve made on here and the delicate patience in creating. I’m very much a private person only evoking creativity when a mood strikes. I hope to share more this year in romanticizing my quiet little life šŸ¤šŸ©°
