The Marc Jacobs Large Dual Hobo was love at first sight when I first saw it at Nordstrom about a year ago. I ended up picking it up a few months later during their Presidents’ Day sale, and I’m still so happy I did.

This bag has had this really distinct “clean” scent since the day I opened the box, and somehow it has never gone away. I love it.

I also really appreciate the texture of the pebbled leather. I KNOW some people hate pebbled leather, but as someone who is rough on her bags, it works perfectly for me.

I’ve also heard people complain about the bright lining in Marc Jacobs bags, but personally? I’m here for the yellow. First of all, it makes it so much easier to actually SEE what’s inside the bag. Second of all… black bag lining? Groundbreaking.

The design itself is really interesting and geometric, especially the handle, which is very love-hate for me. I LOVE how it looks. I hate how it functions. It makes getting in and out of the bag a little cumbersome.

There’s also this little stitch that I’m still not sure if I’m supposed to cut or leave alone, so naturally I’ve done nothing because I’m scared it’s intentional. 😂

One of my favorite details is the knot on the side where the two mirrored “J” shapes come together and almost create an infinity symbol. I also love the Marc Jacobs etching in that soft, slightly muted gold finish. It feels understated but still very intentional.

And then there’s the external charm pouch. I love the idea of it and I love how it looks on the bag. I understand that the size was probably designed to complement the shape of the bag, but I really wish it were about an inch longer so it could fit a few more practical things like cards, an ID, or a small perfume.

Overall, I’m really happy with the Marc Jacobs Large Dual Hobo. It’s interesting, functional, a little quirky, and definitely not boring.

I had so much fun carrying this bag around and chilling with Joy @gtrprincess . She really is such a JOY. I’ll see myself out. 😂

Joy joined me on one of my little Sunday side quests...first stop, Echo Park for Sunday Funday at @goodusedbook.

I have a lot of random little side quests I’m on that I don’t really tell people about, and one of them is getting my portrait done by young artists. I spent so much time as a photographer and behind the camera that I genuinely hate having my picture taken. As a photographer, I am absolutely judging. 😂 But drawing me? Sign me UP.

What I love is that everyone sees and perceives you differently, and every artist has their own style. I love getting to see myself through someone else’s eyes and through the way they create.

After that, Joy and I headed to a vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free spot for our vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free friends… only for the gluten-resistant carnivores to be the only ones who actually showed up. 😂 Joy ordered a mimosa flight, and since I don’t drink, I got to help pick the flavors while absolutely demolishing the mushroom calamari. Trust me, it was GOOD.

Then we wandered around West Hollywood, hit all the little It-girl shops, stopped by the @gentlemonster pop-up, wandered into places like Re/Done, and eventually found some actual meat at Urth Caffé.

And while we were eating, a Power Ranger sat down at the little table right next to us.

Watching people quietly come up and tell him how much they loved him growing up was honestly so sweet. Meanwhile, I was internally losing my mind because… I was sitting next to a Power Ranger. Obviously I texted my brother immediately to brag. Yes, he was jealous. 😂

I really love Sundays like this. Nothing major, nothing overly planned — just getting out of the house, spending time with people I love, wandering around the city, and letting the day become whatever it becomes.

And of course, I did all of it with the Coach Tabby 20 in the Tooled Tea Rose motif. 🤎🌹

And thank you to everyone who sent such kind words yesterday.

It’s hard for me to call Jax a “pet,” because I never saw him that way. He was my family. If I was somewhere, Jax was usually right there with me. We were a pair. That was my roll dawg.

He was even my plus one to my brother’s wedding. 😂 The ONLY place Jax didn’t go with me was work.

So when I talk about him, that’s the kind of bond I mean. He was woven into my everyday life, my routines, my memories, all of it.

And somehow this little bag will always make me think of him. 🤎

Of all my bags, this is the one that means the most to me... which is probably why it’s also the one I wear the least.

The day after my dog passed away, this bag showed up in my Instagram ads between stories. I scrolled past it at first. I was lying in bed completely consumed by grief because my baby of 18 years had just transitioned.

Then the next morning, around 5 AM, it showed up again. This time I stopped, looked at it more closely, and just hit “buy now.”

Something about it reminded me so much of Jax.

It’s a tooled Tea Rose motif, and the leather immediately reminded me of growing up in Austin. Texas isn’t always as “country” as people expect, but reminders of cowboy culture are everywhere, and tooled leather is such a beautiful art form there.

Jax was born in Texas, too. And he absolutely loved my plants. I have more than 50 houseplants, including trees, and every day Jax would pick a different plant or tree to sit underneath. Not once in 18 years did that little boy try to eat one. 😂 He genuinely just seemed to enjoy their company.

So when I saw the leather tooling, the flowers, the leaves, all of it together… it felt like him. Texas. Plants. Home. Jax.

I had no idea at the time that this bag was part of a limited run. I’m just so grateful that, in one of the saddest moments of my life, I listened to whatever told me to buy it.

My friend asked for a custom 3-tier mixed-metal bag chain, and this is what we made. ✨

Gunmetal, light gold, and silver layered together, with the longest tier at 24 inches. I styled it here on my Coach Empire 40 in Merlot, and the way this chain catches the light is honestly ridiculous.
