New work for @stichtingdenoordzee
 The North Sea shaped me.
As a stoked kid, a teenager, an athlete, a father.
And as a filmmaker.. but above all, as a human who loves the sea.

She taught me patience, gave me freedom, confronted me with fear and gifted me euphoria and a lifelong passion: surfing.

A lot of the things I do started in the north sea, so to create this for @stichtingdenoordzee was truly full circle and wholesome.

With a small, dedicated team we created a film that gives her a voice.
Not as a backdrop, but as a living being.

It's now officially the busiest sea in the world, gasping for breath.  From endless horizons.. to a skyline of steel, turbines, platforms, fires and red lights.
The North Sea deserves our attention. Always. But now more than ever!

‘Raising questions about the pervasive whiteness of the outdoor community and its inaccessibility for BIPOC people, Netherlands-based director Lidewij Hartog @lidewijhartog and cinematographer Yannick de Jager @jagershots connect with members of the @030blackcanary collective in Berlin for the short documentary Black Canary.

Developed with @off.therichter Black Canary spotlights the collective as a starting point for self-discovery, new connections, and a breaking down of systemic barriers, inviting deeper exploration of the natural landscape beyond the city’s limits.

Disrupted emotions explores the tension between order and chaos. Performance artist YAV channels emotional turbulence into raw, physical movement. Together with YAV, directed by @katjangkay, we created a short visual journey as an extension to his EP ‘Eruption’, released in 2024.
