A simple change in colour placement can completely redefine a space.

For this staircase transformation, the handrail was updated from white to black, creating a stronger architectural statement and adding contrast against the softer palette. We also reversed the wall colours, introducing white to the lower panelling while taking Ammonite by Farrow & Ball across the upper walls and ceiling.

This subtle shift draws the eye upward, enhances the sense of height, and creates a more cohesive, contemporary feel while still respecting the home’s character.

Proof that sometimes, it’s not about adding more — it’s about placing colour with intention.

When your almost 7 year old going on 57 decides pink is no longer on the agenda and requests a more “grown-up” bedroom in browns and creams… naturally, I delivered.

She took full creative control — choosing each shade, deciding where every colour would go, and even opting for a full colour drench. I just brought her vision to life.

The result is a space that feels calm, cosy, and surprisingly sophisticated — proof that great design has no age limit.

Safe to say, she’s got impeccable taste.
