“Slime is its important embodiment in nature. It is protean in its behaviour; it is material of interfaces and has a unique place in our imaginations. We are all creatures of slime, but some of us are more creative than others: there is a menagerie of oozing organisms to be found in all the world’s habitats, frequently changing these environments to suit their needs - by leaving their glistening marks.

We regard it as an object of universal disgust, only admitting it as an entertaining expression of the depths of the human psyche.

In celebration of the ‘Biomorphic’ form in depiction of art, sculpture and design. What does it evoke, what does it trigger for you? More importantly, what do you see? - “forms or images are ones that while abstract nevertheless refer to, or evoke, living forms such as plants and the human body”

“From the Greek : bios (life) and morphe (form), evokes naturally occurring forms .. plants, organisms, and body parts.”

Dame Barbara Hepworth, English artist and sculptor. Her art is renowned for exemplifying Modernism and in particular modernist sculpture.
