Photographer Hubert Crabières unveiled a captivating new editorial series for @temple.magazine

What makes this work truly remarkable is that it was achieved completely without Photoshop, CGI, or AI generation. Instead, the striking visual effects are the result of an in-camera lighting trick that the photographer spent years developing and experimenting with. Relying purely on the mastery of light, creative styling, hair, makeup, and organic team collaboration, this project proves that genuine photographic craft can produce visuals even more mesmerizing than digital manipulation.

@shota__yamauchi “Twilight”
at @con_tokyo_)
Sep 25 – Nov 8, 2026

Bridging sculpture, video, performance, and scent, Shota Yamauchi (@shota__yamauchi) has long explored the fluid boundaries between the self and the world. Lately, his focus has shifted deeper into the tangible traces of the body—sweat, scent, and the tactile friction shared between self and others.
The catalyst for this solo show is his frequent visits to the sauna over recent years. And truly, is there a better backdrop to embody this sensory realm?
Complete strangers gather in tight quarters, enveloped in thick steam and rising heat, sweating and breathing together in what feels like an uncanny, almost spiritual daily ritual.
Inside the gallery, sculptures reminiscent of sauna stoves, a body figure with arms stretched skyward, and his latest video work Twilight inhabit the space. As fine mist pours directly from the sculptures, the entire room transforms into an art sauna—where physical forms blur, and the boundaries between oneself and the stranger softly dissolve.
