In his solo exhibition Home Field Advantage, Jacob Li Rosenberg explores the amassing of tradition, in all its forms, as the force behind the maximalist aesthetic Chinatowns are known for. They say abundance is wealth; accumulation is a shorthand signal for belonging. This accumulation of things and rituals is not only an inheritance for subsequent generations, but also something to be moved through, sifted, and at times unpacked. Taking stock and reorganizing what has been accumulated—physically and spiritually—Li Rosenberg makes room for himself and his community, wholly and in all their complexity. At Dream Farm Commons, Jacob Li Rosenberg (@luckydr8gon ) builds his Chinatown across two galleries. In one, awnings and doorways simulate the visual excess and more humble architectural attributes of Chinatowns in the Bay Area and New York. We are soooo happy to be curating Jacob Li Rosenberg’s solo exhibition at @dreamfarmcommons 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥 𝘈𝘥𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦. The exhibition opens June 12, with an opening 6-9 pm.But first, a bit about Jacob:Jacob Li Rosenberg is a Wisconsin-born, multi-media artist and caregiver of Chinese and Jewish heritage. He holds a BA in Art Practice and Sociology from UC Berkeley. Jacob currently lives and works in his mother’s hometown of San Francisco.Rooted in spatial awareness and historical inquiry, Jacob’s practice interweaves personal narrative with an exploration of converging cultural identities. His work engages themes of place, familial lore, tradition, language, labor, archives, and generational care. Trained as a photographer, Jacob is a conceptual artist who has spent recent years creating collaged works that integrate cyanotype, screenprint, and found/fabricated objects. @luckydr8gon by @offhours_sf

Back in February, Nancy Jean Guerrero’s solo show “In the Manner of a Ghost” opened at Right Window. We also wrote a zine—but you can’t have one, because they were all gone right after the opening! Thank you @nancyjeanguerrero for trusting us to mediate your work. We loved working with you and feels fundamentally changed ❤️ by @offhours_sf
