I’m not a trust fund kid, I didn’t have savings (I was actually in debt until last November)
I grew up in care from the age of 13 - 18,
I missed many years of school.
I had no qualifications, I am now CIPD qualified and obtain both maths and English alongside ICT, science and food technology * I am a banging chef *
I’ve toured the country with in my eyes some of the most legendary acts in the UK.
Been on TV, worked on other things on screen and BTS, even hit the BBC Radio…
Look this isn’t about boasting, it’s about proving anything is possible, you CAN do it, you CAN achieve great things, it just takes the first step…

During my time filming Channel 4’s World’s Apart in Japan, I had one afternoon to myself while we weren’t shooting, so instead of taking it easy, I decided to explore Kyoto.

That spontaneous adventure led me to one of the most fascinating places I’ve ever visited, the famous blood stained ceilings.

Originally, these wooden boards were the floor of Fushimi Castle, where in 1600 around 1,800 samurai, led by Torii Mototada, made a final stand against an attacking force of roughly 40,000 soldiers. They held the castle for nearly two weeks, buying precious time for Tokugawa Ieyasu before the decisive Battle of Sekigahara. When the castle finally fell, many of the remaining defenders reportedly chose seppuku rather than surrender.

According to tradition, the bloodstained floorboards were later moved to temples across Kyoto and installed as ceilings, preserving the sacrifice of those warriors for more than 400 years. Standing beneath them, knowing the history they represent, was a moment I’ll never forget. Sometimes the best travel experiences are the ones you stumble across when you simply decide to wander.
