Wow, it’s been a minute since I’ve last spoken to y’all, but I think this is a good time to open back up.

This weekend, I was honored with a Merit award for feature storytelling and a Gabby award for videography.

Before I came to CBS News Atlanta, I went over two years without writing or voicing a story. We also started our first newscast with a little over three months left in the year. So to come into this new and highly competitive Atlanta market and make an impact so quickly is such a blessing. But winning this award for our news team at CBS News Atlanta, it’s a sign of who we are and the work we will continue to do.

The best is still yet to come! by @official_dfound

I am beyond honored to receive one of CBS News Atlanta’s first ever Emmy nominations. Not as a news photographer, nor a camera operator, but as a multi-media journalist. Win or lose this proves anyone can be a storyteller regardless of position or experience. We can achieve our goals even if some doubt them.

I want to thank my outstanding teammates at @cbsnewsatlanta for always supporting me and CBS News and Stations for bringing me into this outstanding team. As my news director Shawn Hoder said, “There’s no poWEr without WE.”

I find myself saying this more often than I ever imagined, but this is why I moved to Atlanta and why I enjoy working at CBS News Atlanta. Great storytelling will always have a place in our community, and this is why. This is one of the most powerful stories I have ever told, and I'm glad that CBS News Atlanta gave me the time to thoroughly put this piece together. These stories matter, and we're here to tell them. by @official_dfound

New Producer: So I got this idea to do a story about ICE enforcement and comedy.
Donald: I'll do it! What could possibly go wrong.

T.I. (@tip) has spent decades commanding stages as a chart-topping rapper, but these days the Atlanta icon is chasing laughs instead of platinum plaques — and finding healing along the way. Known to fans as T.I. or T.I.P., Clifford “Tip” Harris has stepped into a new role as a standup comedian. Harris said comedy wasn’t something he set out to pursue, even as his career expanded into acting, writing and producing. That changed a few years ago when he began performing standup sets around the country, quickly falling in love with being on stage and returning night after night to sharpen his craft, eventually earning a spot opening for Dave Chappelle. His new comedy special, Cheaper Than Therapy, reflects both his growth as a performer and his willingness to be vulnerable, offering a sense of relief during a challenging period in his life.
