Every great story starts with a single chapter… start your own story!💡👩‍💻

If you’re interested in starting an Empty Streets chapter, this guide will walk you through the entire process-from choosing which chapter you want to create to signing up, creating an Instagram account, and organizing impactful initiatives. Chapters can host events, collaborate with local organizations, and contribute to our mission of supporting survivors of human trafficking through education, advocacy, and direct aid.

This updated version also highlights successful chapters and fundraising strategies to help you get started. If you’re ready to make an impact, follow these steps to launch a chapter in your community. 💙

If you’re new here, welcome to The Empty Streets! We’re a youth-led movement dedicated to raising awareness, supporting survivors, and driving real change in our communities. 🚀

We work with shelters, law enforcement, and nonprofits to provide resources, education, and advocacy to combat human trafficking. Whether you want to earn service hours, develop leadership skills, or create meaningful change, join our team and be eligible for recognition such as the PVSA or
Volunteer of the Month.🏆

8.5 TONNES. That is the weight of the narcotics seized in Ghana over the last year. 🚨

Ghana’s recent record-breaking $350M drug seizures expose a dark reality: local traffickers are flooding our neighborhoods with narcotics to use as a weapon of control. By forcing victims into addiction, criminal networks ensure their captives are too dependent to escape.

At Empty Streets, we advocate for those caught at the intersection of drug and human trafficking. Knowledge is the first step to intervention.

❤️💛💚

Look for control.
Look for exploitation.
Look for the signs.

TRAFFICKING DOESN'T ALWAYS LOOK LIKE A STRANGER WITH A MASK.
It might look like this:
🚩 Someone controls another person's money or documents
🚩 Someone is threatened or intimidated into sexual acts
🚩 Someone cannot freely leave a situation
🚩 Someone is isolated from family and friends
🚩 Someone is being manipulated through promises, debt, or deception by @official_emptystreets
