MOP CRS I Mental Health Awareness Series I Understanding Beyond Labels, Listening Beyond Assumptions✨

As part of M.O.P. Community Radio Station (MOP CRS) 107.8 MHz FM's "Mental Health Awareness Series", we had the opportunity to speak with Ms. Rajashree, Counselling Psychologist, Assistant Professor at M.O.P. Vaishnav College, and a Queer-Affirmative Counselling Psychologist, to explore the experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community.

This conversation gave us more than just information. It helped us look at gender, sexuality, identity, and human experiences with greater understanding and an open mind. We explored what it truly means to be queer-affirmative and why creating an environment free from judgement, assumptions, and stigma matters.

We also gained a deeper understanding of how our ideas about gender and sexuality are shaped by society, and how important it is to question these assumptions rather than allowing them to define someone’s identity or experiences.

Most importantly, the conversation reminded us that being queer-affirmative is not simply about acceptance. It is about listening, respecting identities, understanding individual experiences, and creating spaces where people feel safe enough to be themselves.

Every conversation that helps us understand one another a little better is a step towards a more compassionate and inclusive society. 🤍

MOP CRS I Mental Health Awareness Series I Suicide Prevention Day | Breaking the Silence, Starting Conversations ✨

As part of M.O.P. Community Radio Station (MOP CRS) 107.8 MHz FM's "Mental Health Awareness Series", we had the opportunity to speak with Ms. Kaviya, Counselling Psychologist and Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women, for Suicide Prevention Day.

Through this conversation, she shared valuable insights on understanding suicide beyond the stigma — reminding us that awareness begins when we learn to listen, understand, and talk about mental health without judgement.

Sometimes, a conversation can be the beginning of someone feeling heard. 🤍

Let’s talk. Let’s listen. Let’s understand and be empathetic.

From the airwaves to the shoreline — M.O.P. CRS took action! 💙🌱

On 26 September 2026, the M.O.P. Community Radio Station 107.8 MHz proudly participated in the International Coastal Cleanup Drive 2026 at Marina Beach, Chennai, organised by Bhumi in collaboration with VFS Global.

It was more than just a cleanup — it was a powerful reminder that caring for our environment begins with showing up, getting involved and taking responsibility. Together, volunteers came together to make our coastline cleaner and create a stronger culture of environmental consciousness.

Let’s keep the change going — one shore, one community, one action at a time!
