Jamaica will forever have my heart 💛
from the joy of vacation to the heartbreak of the hurricane, this trip changed me in ways I’ll never forget.

While there were challenges in getting home, I still had a home to come back to. There are sooooo many people who still don’t have power, water, food and basic necessities and some have lost everythingggg. If you find it in your heart to find ways to donate there are so many platforms and content creators bringing awareness about current aid efforts. Ok but wait a minute! Talk about finding purpose 😮‍💨🙌🏾

Sometimes I feel like I’ve lived so many lives I could write a whole book, but this caption will have to do for now 😆

Moving to Atlanta three years ago, I thought I was stepping into a new chapter, but instead I spiraled and lost myself. Within that first year I faced heartbreak, depression, and two years of isolation. I’ve always been good at smiling through the pain, but deep down I was searching for healing and fulfillment in everything and everyone but God. I became codependent on people and vices that only left me emptier.

At the start of this year I made the decision to give my life back to Christ. I knew He was always the answer, I grew up in church, but honestly I felt unworthy and kept choosing sin over Him. In January I spent two months church hopping, and after nearly a decade away from God I couldn’t see the difference between my lifestyle and what these churches were giving 😬 I was ready to throw in the towel when I decided to just try one more. When visiting @2819church sat in the overflow (a gym at the time), and when worship began something shifted. I started crying to songs I didn’t even know the words to! I closed my eyes and for the FIRST time in my life I felt the tangible presence of God, like I was floating in the clouds, weightless, with not a care in the world 😭. When @philipamitchell came out and literally described the exact thing I had just felt (about seeking His presence and being in the clouds) I knew I was home

Since February I’ve been in a daily battle of dying to my old self and choosing God. I’ve failed more times than I can count, but the difference this time is conviction. I feel His hand on my life and I know deep down He is the only way. This weekend was a testament to that. I surrendered it ALL to Him, and I’m not looking back!!! 🙌🏾🔥 Failure now means to fight harder not give up!

Thank You God for never giving up on me, for chasing after my heart through every failure, and for saving me from myself 😭❤️‍🔥 If you’ve read this far you’re a real one ☝🏾 here’s a little dumpy dump of the summer so far ✨ taken in Atlanta, GA by @officialacastro
