Dark Force Fest 2027 Band Announcement:
BLITZKID [West Virginia] @officialblitzkid

Horror punk legends BLITZKID return to Dark Force Fest in support of their long-awaited new studio album, MODERN HEL, their frst full length release
in sixteen years.
Formed in 1997, Blitzkid quickly became one of the most infuential bands in modern horror punk and has remained one of the genre’s leading exponents. Known for their driving punk energy, dark atmosphere, and unforgettable melodic hooks, the band has built an international following through decades of touring across the globe.
From Wave Gotik Treffen to Wacken Open Air, Blitzkid’s versatility has allowed them to perform at some of the world’s most notable genre festivals,
demonstrating the band’s unique ability to connect with audiences across multiple underground scenes.
With MODERN HEL, Blitzkid enters a powerful new chapter. While the band’s signature haunting melodies and anthemic choruses remain frmly intact, the new material pushes their sound into more aggressive territory, incorporating a blistering fusion of thrash and hardcore to a degree the band has never explored before.
The result is a blistering blend of driving riffs and haunting hooks that have defned Blitzkid for nearly three decades.
LONG LIVE THE HORROR!!!

Twenty years. That’s how long Five Cellars Below remained my favorite Blitzkid album.

Until now.

With Modern Hel, Ryan Manning, TB Monstrosity and Argyle Goolsby have created something I honestly didn’t expect to hear anymore: a horror punk record that feels completely rooted in the genre’s history while still pushing it somewhere new.

Faster. Heavier. More aggressive. Full of the metal influences that have always been part of Blitzkid’s DNA — but finally unleashed without losing the melodies, atmosphere, storytelling and emotion that made this band so special in the first place.

To my ears, this is the missing link between the furious energy of Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood and the kind of Horrorpunk Blitzkid helped redefine themselves.

And somehow, after all these years, they’ve raised their own bar again.

For me, Modern Hel is their magnum opus.

The full review is in the carousel.

LONG LIVE BLITZKID.

This Friday (09/18/26) at 10:30 AM (EST), we will be premiering another new song from "MODERN HEL" exclusively on our YouTube channel.

We had originally planned to do a full-on music video for this particular track, but due to time and logistical constraints, we had to cut it.

Rather than forgo the visual component altogether, our friend @peterspixels stepped in and assembled some live footage he shot of the band when we were touring overseas this past summer, and now "BEAST OR MAN?" rides again!

"MODERN HEL" drops NEXT FRIDAY (09/25/26), and the MODERN HEL TOUR kicks off stateside the following weekend on 10/03/26!

We will be playing 11 of the 13 new songs on this run, so get your tickets now at www.acwnnprod.com/shows and come revel in the madness with us!

See you in HEL, my friends!
