In 1960, ATCO Records releases “Autumn Blues” by Bobby Darin with Orchestra conducted by Shorty Rogers. The instrumental track was the B-side to “Beachcomber,” also a peppy instrumental. Today marks the first day of autumn in the Northern hemisphere and welcome cooling temperatures. 🍁 by @officialbobbydarin

🎵New York on Sunday
Big City taking a nap
Slow down, it’s Sunday
Life’s a ball, let it fall in your lap
If you’ve got troubles
Just take them out for a walk
They’ll burst like bubbles
In the fun of a Sunday In New York🎵🌆

🎵As long as I’m singin’
Then the world’s all right
And everything’s swingin’
Long as I’m singin’ my song.🎵

🎤✨ On this day in 1967, Bobby Darin took the stage in Monte Carlo as the headline entertainment for Princess Grace’s star-studded Red Cross Gala, one of the most glamorous events on the international social calendar.

The Bronx-born crooner turned Hollywood favorite that night became one of the American entertainers to grace European royalty’s most exclusive party, later even sharing a dance with Princess Grace herself. 💃🕺

From the Copacabana to the Cote d’Azur — pure class, pure Darin. 🎶

Today we remember Elvis Presley, on the anniversary of his passing on August 16, 1977. The King of Rock and Roll left a legacy that reshaped music forever, but behind the icon was a man who built real, lasting friendships in an industry built on image.

Bobby and @elvis crossed paths often in Vegas in the early 1960s, including a memorable night at the Sahara Hotel in July 1960, where Darin was opening for George Burns and Elvis came out to support him. The two respected each other’s artistry, with Elvis even recording several songs Darin had made famous such as “I’ll Be There” and “You’re The Reason I’m Living.”

Their bond wasn’t just professional, the two men stayed friendly through the years despite the different directions their careers took. Darin passed away in 1973, just four years before Elvis - two bright, complicated talents from the same era, gone far too soon.

Today, we remember Elvis not just for the music that changed the world, but for the friendships that showed who he was off stage. 🕊️🎙️

🎵Oh, the good life, full of fun
Seems to be the ideal
Yes, the good life let’s you hide
All the sadness you feel

You won’t really fall in love
For you can’t take the chance
So be honest with yourself
Don’t try to fake romance

It’s the good life
To be free and explore the unknown
Like the heartaches
When you learn you must face them alone

Please remember, I still love you
And in case you don’t know
Well, just wake up
Kiss the good life “hel-lo” 🎵 by @officialbobbydarin

On this day in 1958, “Splish Splash” hit its peak on the Billboard charts, at #3. Born from a bet, a mom’s throwaway lyric, and pure rock-and-roll fun, the song is proof that sometimes the silliest ideas make the biggest splashes. 🛁🎶
