In Oak Park there is a lack of communication from our elected officials with our residents. Two teenagers were victims of gun violence and no suspect is in custody. The community has not received any communication from the Mayor’s message email blast nor any mention of this via text blast to the residents who signed up for city alerts. I will be the elected official that will listen, remain engaged and advocate for the residents of Oak Park. I will offer fiscal responsibility and bring a mental health database that will allow mentally ill residents the ability to register their home with public safety to ensure a trained, safe de-escalating approach.
