I feel so fortunate to have been the first to introduce the English-lyric version of “Love Dance” on my 1985 album Schuur Thing. Written by @ivanlinsoficial with a beautifully romantic lyric by @paulielama2 it’s a song that has always held a special place in my heart. Here I am performing it live with The Dave Grusin Band. What a wonderful musical memory! by @officialdianeschuur
Here I am performing “Watch What Happens” live. This has always been a special song to me, and I was happy to record it on my 2014 album, I Remember You – With Love to Stan & Frank. It’s a joy to revisit this beautiful music and share it with you. by @officialdianeschuur

A little Sunday morning inspiration from the great @officialdianeschuur. ☀️ On last night’s episode of The Upside of Jazz, I spoke with Deedles, as Dianne likes to be called, and @jonathankarrant about his new album, Full Circle, a celebration of her music and the friendship behind it. I loved hearing the two of them talk together. Our full conversation is available now on “The Upside of Jazz” from @wabeatl, wherever you get your podcasts. Hope you enjoy your Sunday, and find a little time to just be 🙂 #TheUpsideOfJazz #DianneSchuur #JonathanKarrant #FullCircle #WABE by @officialdianeschuur

Release day! 🎶 Jonathan Karrant or “Jonny,” as I affectionately call him, has the rare gift of making every song unmistakably his own. He brings a depth and individuality to each of his performances. Working with him, both on stage and off, has been such an amazing experience. Our friendship means more to me than I can adequately express, and it is something I will always cherish. Over the course of my career, I’ve been fortunate to receive many awards and honors. Yet this tribute album stands among the most meaningful recognitions I could ever imagine. Jonathan, alongside this extraordinary team of musicians, have crafted arrangements that beautifully honor my legacy while reshaping these songs to reflect his own artistry. The result is vibrant and undeniably special, and together, they truly sound incredible. Deciding to retire was not an easy process for me, but Jonny stood by me in so many supportive and generous ways during that time. Working on this project became not only a creative collaboration, but a deeply personal and affirming experience. It feels like the perfect bookend to my career. For me, this album is profoundly heartfelt because it was created from a place of love, respect, and genuine friendship. The title Full Circle represents something deeply symbolic, a passing of the torch, a continuation of spirit and song. I can think of no one more fitting to carry that light forward than Jonny. It is my great honor to share that moment with him. He’s one cool cat, and I couldn’t be prouder. by @officialdianeschuur

Out now! “I’ll Be Seeing You” by @officialdianeschuur
“Recording the song I’ll Be Seeing You was such a special and emotional experience for me. I felt completely transported, losing myself in the music as I reflected on my journey with a mix of sadness, joy, and deep gratitude for the gift of music in my life. For Jonathan, my wish is that he achieves everything he hopes for and truly deserves. I love him dearly and will always treasure our friendship. It has been an incredible honor to create this album, Full Circle together.” - Diane Schuur When Diane, alongside pianist Tamir Hendelman, recorded I’ll Be Seeing You, we all knew we were witnessing a truly monumental musical moment. Given Diane’s extraordinary legacy and recent retirement, the song took on an entirely new meaning. It felt as though we were hearing the lyrics for the very first time, telling a different story. As I looked around the studio, there wasn’t a dry eye among the musicians. It’s the most heartfelt recording of this song I’ve ever heard. Working with Diane on this album has been such a special experience, inspired by love, friendship, and appreciation for her brilliant artistry. - Jonathan Karrant by @officialdianeschuur
