HEALTH - + started as an experiment and slowly became something much more personal.
I've always been fascinated by the idea that plants are constantly responding to the world around them. Using biodata from living plants, I translate those electrical changes into MIDI information that becomes the foundation of each composition. Light, touch, temperature, humidity, and even the people in the room all influence the music, so no two performances are ever the same.

Most of these recordings were captured live during sound baths and installations at places like the Eaton Hotel, Phillips Collection, Grounded, Rewild, The United States Botanic Gardens, and more. They are moments that couldn't be recreated, only experienced and documented.

This project also became a way for me to process loss. My stepmother was a botanist who dedicated her life to studying plants. After she passed away from bone cancer, I found myself spending more time listening to nature instead of trying to control it. In many ways, these recordings became conversations I didn't know I needed. This album is dedicated to her memory and to the living world she spent her life protecting.

HEALTH - + isn't about perfect compositions. It's about slowing down, paying attention, and remembering that we're part of something much larger than ourselves. My role is simply to listen and create space for those moments to exist.
