African Art on African Soil for @VogueMagazine

This piece spotlights artists living and working on the continent-artists whose practices are rooted in community, memory, craft, and spirit. Every artist wears South African designers, shot at Zeitz MOCAA, one of Africa’s most vital contemporary art institutions.

“The first person I interviewed for this story was Koyo
Kouoh. We spoke about grounding yourself in the work and creating space for others to bloom. “We have to see ourselves first.” she said. In light of her recent passing, we wanted the story to reflect her legacy -but, at its heart, celebrate what she cared for most: the artists. The ones she loved. The ones she championed. The ones carrying the work forward.”

Last few pics from my favourite @vogueportugal story by @antdane & @armanddicker ! 🖤😍

A trip to the beach turned into a thriller: in a modern version of Charlie’s Angels (if Charlie’s Angels had their own mysterious quality and aura of intrigue) our trio of protagonists seem to want to say ‘it’s a nice day to dig a grave’, wearing the sexiest wardrobe, entirely in the Pantone that screams seaside the least - black.
