How are sounds like Amapiano and Afro house shaping Berlin’s underground music scenes?

Berlin-based DJ and curator @officialnel_ breaks down the quiet takeover of Afro house and Amapiano in the city’s evolving music scene.

He dives into how these genres are creating new spaces for Black, African, and diasporic communities to feel seen, heard, and celebrated within a scene long dominated by techno. With communities such as @orokoradio, @cashmere_radio, @afrohausberlin, @passe_par2 and more, the scene keeps evolving, and the dance floor continues to be rooted in joy and groove.

This Year Has Been Hectic For Me ✨

End of years come with introspection and evaluation of ourselves to see the results of the efforts we put in throughout the year.

This year has been hectic for me - from new management, redefining the sound I play in every set, connecting with new audiences, starting a radio show, taking on new roles in my regular life - basically working my ass off.

It’s time to unwind, relax and see the year out. The year has been a lot, it’s only right to see it out in the most fun way possible.

Swipe to see my event calendar and lock it in. More dates are gonna be locked in and updated but for now, find me at any of these spots - LET’S ROCK!🔥🔥

A little colour for your Sunday. 🍂

Introducing Sunday Colour Therapy — a new gathering in Berlin built around House Music, good people and genuine connection.

We wanted to create something that sits somewhere between a listening session, a social and a dancefloor. A place to be yourself, meet new people, have conversations and let the music take the day wherever it needs to go.

For our first session, GOJAS + NEL provide the soundtrack.

Come early. Meet someone new. Stay for the dance.

Gather. Connect. Dance.

Another journey around the sun and I couldn’t be more grateful for the life I live. It has its ups and downs(one too many) but it’s still mine and I love it. I’m thankful for the love that surrounds me and I hope I can give it back in the year ahead.

Thank you for all your well wishes. I am truly grateful.

The big dreams haven’t been closer than right now, stick around we’re very close❤️ by @officialnel_

The first one. 🖤

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about community and what that means for my journey, what gets lost when everything becomes about visibility, and what it takes to build something again in a new place.

So seeing this night come together felt special.

Not because it was perfect. Not because it was the biggest night but because people showed up, shared a space, listened, danced, connected with new people and gave this idea a chance to become something.

This is the beginning of something I’ve wanted to build for a while (maybe i’ve sat with this for too long).

A big thank you to @gojas___ and @2toolow for taking up the challenge with me, everyone who came, made new connections, supported, danced, helped, or simply believed in it enough to be there. Means the world to me.

Also to @maaya_berlin and the events team for believing in an idea and contributing to its foundations. Will forever hold a special place.

One event at a time. 🖤
