Hello There! New Year, New Introduction Post: Born Ryan Rene Perez, REBORN SHNEAKY. I am a Musician from Southeast Los Angeles (SELA); I’ve lived many lives and have acquired many skills over the years. Currently I make my living as a DJ and Sound Engineer for venues, bands, DJs, and nonprofit orgs in the community and social justice space, but I’ve also worked as a promoter, an event specialist, and consulting small businesses in experiential marketing. Half-Assed Music Promo *SONG IS NOT ON THE UPCOMING ALBUM* •
I’ve been working on this 10 song album for the past 4 or 5 years. Between getting my car broken into and losing my recording sessions, to issues with the production, to losing all motivation, inspiration, and purpose, while navigating love, loss, business relationships, changing political climate, and just LIFE in general as a DJ, Rapper, MC, Performer, sound engineer, production manager, event curator, stage manager, tour manager, (whatever other hat I wear in this industry when they need me to). Its too easy to lose yourself in streaming, clubbing, pursuits of joy and connection. So easy to forget where your center is. Working in this industry I’m surrounded by music and the most talented musicians in the world I get the privilege to wake up everyday and LIVE THE DREAM. So why am I not satisfied? Why do I want more? Why can’t I just be happy? BECAUSE… Nothing is as fulfilling as working on MY DREAM. Nothing brings me more clarity than those moments where nothing else matters except how I feel about what I’ve created. At this point I don’t know when I’ll be done, when you’ll be able to hear what I’ve been working on, or how I’m going to make it matter again, but just know, it matters to me, and I’m not taking it for granted. I appreciate all the continued love and support, I know the world is literally on fire, and though you might not understand, this is MY way of “being the change” and living up to my highest purpose of increasing joy and reducing suffering. #SHNEAKY #Musician #Unrelatable by @officialshneaky
