✨ ONE VISION. MANY COMMUNITIES. ✨ What an unforgettable evening at our Bourdillon Pilot Center! We hosted the esteemed team from the Ford Foundation for an exclusive Dinner & Showcase to celebrate the incredible milestones of our 6-month regional dancer outreach initiative. 🌍💃🏾 Thanks to their visionary support, we broke geographical barriers and expanded premium performing arts education beyond borders, successfully empowering 450 young dancers across:📍 SPAN Academy (Lagos Pilot Centre)📍 SOTR Ketu / Omojuwa Hubs📍 SOTR Maiduguri (Borno State)Our scholarship students and instructors completely set the stage on fire with three breathtaking, high-energy acts, proving that raw talent knows no bounds when given opportunity and mentorship. 🔥🥁A massive thank you to the Ford Foundation for investing in the future of African performing arts, and to our incredible staff, instructors, and community partners who made this impact possible. The second edition of Words for da Streets Graffiti Jam is set to unite Nigeria's writers, artists, and culture shapers for a day of raw creativity, community, and legacy. ‎ ‎This is more than a jam it's a movement. A movement to unify the Nigerian graffiti scene, document our stories, and preserve the culture for generations yet to come. Six months ago, I walked into SPAN as a scholarship student (grateful, nervous, and not sure what to expect)..Today, I’m walking through this journey with skills, confidence, and a family. Being a SPAN scholar taught me that opportunity isn’t just given, it’s worked for. Every class, every assignment, every late-night practice pushed me out of my comfort zone. There were days I doubted myself. But my instructors never let me settle. They believed in me even when I didn’t. Thank you for correcting me, encouraging me, and pouring so much into us. To my classmates,you made this journey beautiful. From group work to inside jokes, from “we got this” pep talks to celebrating small wins together — you turned a classroom into a community. I’m proud of how far we’ve all come. I’m deeply grateful to SPAN for this scholarship and for investing in my future. This is not the end. It’s the beginning. I promise to make you proud. To my instructors,Thank you for your patience, your excellence, and for refusing to let us entertain mediocrity.
