POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Three years ago around this time, I had no script except a scene (a lot of us work at best under immense pressure) and an already signed contract at a renown Off-Broadway 1400 seater *we filled…. But I knew the story that I wanted to tell, it was hidden in my heart and life experiences. I am excited and can’t wait to share with you all 😁. Until then, please enjoy photos from our 2024 production of @callforthawoman. The untold stories of Women in The Bible. Often forgotten but notably heroic. ⚡️

May we never underestimate the power of being Ignited.⚡️ “May my personality always be met with the likeness of a torch.” ™️ I’m cool with that. Thank you to the ladies of Ezer for celebrating the most incredible trailblazing Black Women from Combat Veterans to Emmy Winners to CEO’s, and “First” who are trailblazing the way in Connecticut. Grateful for the Igniter Award. 🕯️🗽🔥☄️ by @officialtdmcgee

Rooted, Ready & Rising ‘26⚡️

I can only think of one place where you smell shea butter in the room because clearly melanated women are present; where you’re enlightened by some of the most brilliant minds in the political sphere; where you pay homage to those who fought for you to be there while being encouraged to be unapologetic.

Where you continually hear the resounding, “I love your hair. “Thank you for wearing it natural,” from the brothas and love from sistas alll day. While learning more about the ways we can support the black family, pregnant black moms and mental health support our Kings need. Black men are important.

Where you see your favorites, feel the power of Black leaders past and present, and admire pictures of one of its founding members displayed everywhere — Shirley Chisholm.

“After you pray to God in the morning, you better go and thank a Black Woman.” - TM ❤️‍🔥

My student said, “I LOVE YOUR HAIRRRR MS. TRENEÉ.” Brings me joy. Post 70’s, we worked to dismantle challenges around our fros! I know every Afro wearing woman at one point had to look herself in the mirror and build up the confidence to walk out of her house in her crown! Let’s commence! Crown season is upon us! 👑⚡️🔥 by @officialtdmcgee

To round out Black Business week, we joined @reptreneemcgee in West Haven to take a look around the new @thecopperelephantct and learn from its owner, Amanda Morris. She’s created hair products for black women, she’s run her own interior design firm and now she’s opening a beautiful event space in the heart of the city.

We had such a great week traveling around with our State Representatives to learn from these inspiring Black Female Business owners! Shout out all of your favorite Black Owned Businesses in the comments ! taken in West Haven, Connecticut by @officialtdmcgee
