The NGX All-Share Index closed Monday at 254,245.21, down just 0.02%. Underneath, it was a different story: 21 stocks rose and 43 fell.

CONHALLPLC · Consolidated Hallmark Holdings Plc led, +10.00% to ₦7.15. CHAMPION · Champion Breweries Plc fell 10.00% to ₦8.10. ARADEL · Aradel Holdings Plc dropped 9.99% to ₦1,296.00.

I am begging you. Buy shares this week.

The NGX All-Share Index is up 58.72% this year and closed at 246,992 points on 4 September. It added 2.36% in the first week of this month alone. Your savings account, meanwhile, has spent the year paying you what can only be described as thank-you-for-your-patience money.

Here is ₦100,000, split five ways, at Friday's closing prices:

MTNN — ₦25,000 — 30 shares at ₦813.00 GTCO — ₦25,000 — 188 shares at ₦132.70 ZENITHBANK — ₦20,000 — 155 shares at ₦128.60 ACCESSCORP — ₦20,000 — 665 shares at ₦30.00 NGXGROUP — ₦10,000 — 76 shares at ₦130.00

₦99,101 deployed. ₦899 left over. Buy water with it. Do not let it be the reason you postpone.

Why these five? Four of them are businesses you already fund every month, and the fifth gets paid the moment everyone else starts buying the other four.

MTNN — half-year profit after tax of ₦707.5bn, up 70.6%, on ₦1.70tn of data revenue alone. Every time your bundle finishes early you are topping up someone's dividend. Own the meter.

GTCO — the country's most operationally efficient big bank, on a price-to-earnings ratio of about 5.5, up 46.31% this year.

ZENITHBANK — ₦1.04tn of profit in 2025 and the strongest run of the five this year, up 108.09%. It held its footing all through the recapitalisation everyone said would break the banks.

ACCESSCORP — the cheapest way through the door. ₦20,000 buys you 665 shares. You are buying the expansion here, not the dividend cheque.

NGXGROUP — this one owns the exchange itself. First-half revenue up 118%, transaction fees up 169%. You become the landlord instead of guessing which tenant wins.

Airtime, transfer fees, card charges — you have been funding that table for years. A customer pays for the dinner. A shareholder eats it.

📤 Send this to the one person who needs to start growing their money today. You already know who they are.

⚠️ Not investment advice. Every figure here is a dated fact, not a recommendation — prices fall as willingly as they rise.

50 years after the world celebrated the first Earth Day, we are yet to make meaningful progress towards sustainably saving the planet from a fatal end.
.
But there's is still hope, Earth's apparent breather during the current epidemic proves this to a great extent. We must revise our choices and activities in the interest of our environment and in the interest of upcoming generations.
.
We - governments, experts, ordinary people - must all put hands on deck to save planet Earth, as there is no PLANet B.

“Always remember you are never too young to lead and you are never too old to learn,” UN Secretary General, António Guterres shared this Kofi Annan saying at his funeral service in Ghana today. “He was also someone virtually anyone in the world could see themselves in: those on the far reaching of poverty or by, conflict and despair who found in him an ally; the junior UN staffers following in his footsteps; the young person to whom he said until his dying breath ‘Always remember you are never too young to lead and you are never too old to learn.’”
.
.
“He had a gentle voice that made people smile and think of music but his words were also tough and wise. Kofi Annan was courageous speaking truth to power while subjecting himself to intense scrutiny.”
.
.
“Kofi Annan was United Nations and United Nations was him,” the UN Secretary General, António Guterres continued. RIP Kofi Annan.

If I were in government leadership, education will undoubtedly be my prime priority.
.
Solving the problem of education has historically proven to create ripple effects that in turn see to the solving of the many other problems that can possibly hold any nation back.
.
Educated people dare to innovate, educated people build strong businesses, educated people run farms at scales that sustainably ward off widespread hunger, educated people protect the environment, educated people run the most formidable security machineries, educated people consistently thrive to cater for the teething problems of humanity.
.
It must be noted that this education transcends just that which the four walls of our conventional schools have to offer. As a matter of fact, the meat of the matter is that that kind of education must urgently evolve to meet the demand of the intellectual reserves needed to power tomorrow’s societies. Finland is a shining example of this shift in paradigm.
.
Late Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful tool which you can use to change the world.”
.
In previous publications, I have also echoed this same sentiment. I had urged – and still do – aspiring leaders, “Educate the masses, and you would have solved half of a nation’s problems. The educated masses will help you solve the other half.”
.
Find a role to play in this movement, give it your very best!

PLAY is a huge part of our children's development. Schools of the future must create the kinds of environment that maximise the value of play, for the most effective learning.

And we are the generation to make this happen!

Dear young African,
.
In @kofiannan, we have lost an irreplaceable role model. To keep his legacies alive, we therefore must be deliberate about uniting Africa in progress and prosperity.
.
We must uphold the tenets of peace, love, kindness, justice and equality, the very pillars his life's work. Let us give the great Kofi a reason to merry on the other side of life.

Workers stand near bicycles at a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant owned by a joint venture between Shell, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Total and Eni on Bonny Island, in Rivers state in south-south Nigeria on June 21, 2017.

Nigerian government’s failure to get the Brass LNG project in Bayelsa State, which it initiated on stream, nearly 15 years after, has robbed the country of over $24b in estimated revenue, as well as, about 18,000 jobs.

Going by the plan of the project sited over 8005-hectares, shareholders, including NNPC, were expected to have taken the first Final Investment Decisions since 2007, and recoup their investment in the first five years (2012). Had the project been up and running, it would have enabled the country produce additional 10 million metric tonnes of gas yearly and also secure a brighter future in the international market.

Stakeholders insist that the failure of present and past administrations to act proactively on the plan, has led to a loss of $3b yearly revenue for the past eight years, which is when the first output was expected from the project.

Apart from the job losses and that of returns on investment, other projects planned along with the gas plant, including a seaport and airport, among others, which would have had multiplier effects, as well as, help in addressing agitations in the region have remained a mirage.

As the project is considered a strategic catalyst for the acceleration of socio-economic development, concerns are mounting over plans by the Nigerian Government to scrap it.
