June 5th, 2020 to August 15th, 2025. The day I got it, to present. My first car, my pride and joy. We’ve come a long way, and we still have a ways to go to get it where I want it to be. But, I’m happy with how it’s coming along and the progress I’m making is going well. It’s been a fantastic learning experience, from asking questions like “can you add a lift onto a preexisting lift” (yes, I seriously asked that when I first got the TJ), to redoing the gas tank and fuel lines, and wiring the fuel pump (my biggest project to date, but certainly not my last). The knowledge I’ve gained because of research, asking questions, and chatting with folks has been insurmountable and I’m only continuing to learn more. I’ve met some great people on here and cannot wait to be part of more group wheeling adventures and events. Thank you all for following along on this journey and for supporting the page. It’s been a while since I’ve formally introduced myself, so I thought that I would say hi👋🏼

My name is Kameron, I’m 23, and this is my 2003 Jeep TJ Sport. I’ve owned the TJ for 6 years, and it’s been nothing but rewarding. I was originally going to get a Jeep XJ, but, we saw this TJ on Craigslist; super clean, under 100k miles, well maintained; and the rest is history. A couple of things about me: I grew up off-roading, shooting, riding dirt bikes and quads, camping, and just always being active and spending time in outside🏕️ When I was a kid, it was my dream to race motocross. Since I was young, I loved academics and school. I would write papers for the fun of it 📝 Later in my high school years, I unexpectedly fell ill. With my diagnoses came numerous symptoms, and getting through each day was very difficult. My passion for school and sports wasn’t the same. Overtime, I’ve grown used to my adjusted everyday life, and I’m now at a time in my life where I’m reclaiming my love and drive for the outdoors and hobbies. As cheesy as it sounds, I’m not letting my disabilities define me ♿️ Earlier this year, I graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Environmental Science and I got a job as an Environmental Compliance Specialist 🎓 I feel very fortunate for my career and the opportunities that I have. And, I have the availability after work and on the weekends to work on the Jeep, spend time with my partner, and give my dog all the love she deserves 🦮 Speaking of, they don’t lie when they say that a dog is a man’s best friend! My lab means the world to me and I am so lucky to have such a good girl. She does get car sick though so she doesn’t always enjoy wheeling😅 My partner on the other hand, whom I am deeply in love with, loves going off-roading and on adventures! I’ve only taken her once, but once I finish up the TJ, you bet we are going! I also love Shin Godzilla and the Heisei Era Godzilla, and if you ask me a question about dinosaurs I guarantee I can answer🦕 And my favorite band is Tool🤙🏼

The TJ is still sitting in the garage. Just waiting on a genuine Mopar seal, rather than the Fel-Pro one I bought, to complete the rear main seal replacement. Once I finish with this project, I’ll be replacing the spark plugs with the original genuine copper plugs. I also have to replace the bulb that went out in the automatic transmission shifter indicator, it died a while ago and I just want to fix that because there’s no reason not to. I will also try to (and hopefully successfully) install the ECGS chromoly axle shafts for the D30. They’ve been sitting for a while and I finally got a slide hammer and attachment to get the wheel hub off, so we’ll see how that goes! Also hopping to flatten the stock license plate mounting locations and correct the paint; it’s all messed up. Lots of projects just to make this thing last a longer time and to work towards my final goals, and I’m proud of that! I’m excited for future modifications, I already have a plan for something later this year that should change the look of the TJ entirely! I’m looking forward to it. Stay tuned!

Worked on the TJ this weekend! Sort of. I intended on replacing the rear main seal, the Jeep has been leaking like crazy and I don’t want to neglect it any longer. It was going so well up until it wasn’t! I thought that I could try to wiggle the oil pan out enough with the exhaust/catalytic converter still installed, but I couldn’t. I removed the rear bolts and went to remove the upper bolts for the exhaust, but it’s tight up there, so I wasn’t able to get to it after the long day I had. I’ll come back to it a different day and get it done. But, while I was under the TJ, it seems like I found another oil leak location: the transmission spacer plate. So, while I’m working on this project, I’ll also remove the plate and try to see what’s up, and hopefully add some RTV inside to seal up the gap. Anyone dealt with leaking oil from this location?

I’ve missed working on the TJ, despite its difficulties sometimes! Hope you all had a great weekend and Happy Monday 😎🤙🏼

The @cavfab_4x4 heavy duty, high clearance steering kit (tie rod and drag link) and track bar are all finished up on the Off Kamber TJ! One step closer towards my goals! My dad made this project possible. He got me this kit for my birthday back in February, and while he was here for my UC Davis commencement ceremony, he helped me install it all and make adjustments. It was the first real project we have done on the Jeep together and it was a great time and a really valuable experience. Excited to do a shakedown run on the trails with it. Street was a success!
