An intro to our new series - 50 family friendly things to do in Notts 💚🏹

There's so many places that we absolutely love here in Notts that aren't getting enough attention.

This account has grown in 3 years and while you might recognise some of these places if you've been here a while, I think it's nice to have a reminder of things to do.

I've realised that there are places we've been loads of times and I've only posted about them once, some places I never did a video for because I ran out of time or talked myself out of anyone being interested 🙃

I'll still be posting some other places locally that I think are worth heading out of Notts for but this series will highlight some of our favourite things to do right here in Notts (There may be a few that are on the border slightly 🤪😅)

💥The BIG guide to EVERYTHING there is for kids to do in Notts! Getting on for 200 ideas of places to take your little ones 🤯

This has taken me so so long so please do like and share if you think it's useful.

It's not perfect but one thing I've had to make peace with doing this is that 'done is better than perfect' 🙃

🙏🏼Thank you so so much everyone that gave me feedback when I first shared these. With the IG update to 20 photos I've been able to add even more to this post too 🙌🏼 You guys really wanted pubs with playgrounds 😅 so I've added 2 pages of them - definitely not an exhaustive list as there are loads but I've tried to find a couple in each area of Notts at least. 🍻🥂

I really hope this is helpful, all this info will be uploaded to the website soon too but at least it's here for now!

I cannot edit the slides now but I will add any updates into this caption and hopefully update this annually with any new businesses etc. Please let me know in the comments if you spot anything incorrect.

I initially kept it very strictly Nottingham only 💚🏹🆖 but feedback suggested people were happy to go slightly further out for the right trip. I can't please everyone but I promise I've tried my best! ♥️

Is this the best Halloween Experience in the Midlands?! ad/gifted

We went along to Halloween Farm for the first time last weekend and had so much fun! There's so much to do included - definitely enough for a full day out - and for the bravest among you - it could be a night out too!

So what's included?

💲In the basic entrance fee (£4-£6 depending on the day):
🚪Entrance to the site
🎢Access to rides and food area (Rides about £4pp)
🛖Undercover picnic area with live music
🎃Access to the pumpkin patch (pumpkins priced between (£1-£12 Each)
🐮See some farm animals

💲💲They also have all these activities which are included in the 'Adventure Pass' (£20-£30pp depending on the day)
👻Trick or Treat Street (Our favourite activity with good spooky factor for kids and a goody bag of treats)
🎪Halloween Circus (about 40 mins long)
🦖Dinosaur walkthrough in the Corn Field (not really a maze as there's only one way to go)
⛳Miniature Golf
🚜Tractor Ride
🧟‍♀️Zombie Walkthrough (my husband took one for the team on this as we were too scared - there weren't any scare actors when he went through but I think there might be in the evening)

You can add each of these activities separately to the standard ticket for £7-£9 each but if you're doing more than two activities it makes more sense to get the pass.

💲💲💲You can also get a VIP pass which includes all the activities - the same as the 'adventure pass' but you get unlimited goes on everything and fast track the queues. I don't know what the queues will be like closer to Halloween but there were none on our visit and the only thing we did twice was the Trick or Treat Street. So I don't personally think it's worth getting the VIP - maybe if pumpkins or rides were included... 👀

And until the end of 2026, each stay also includes theme park tickets for every guest, for the duration of your stay 🤯 From 2027, tickets will be £10pp extra to enter the theme park (which I still think is a bargain) We've been to Sundown many times and it is so charming and just perfect for younger children. Did I mention they also have a four storey soft play that stays open late and has a bar?! 👀

These lodges sleep 5, 7 or 10 and make the perfect weekend break in North Nottinghamshire - there's some beautiful local places to explore including Clumber Park and Sherwood Forest.

It's £49pp for all 4 attractions!

The pass can be used between 7 Sep and 22 October so perfect for weekend days out! And if you're in Notts or Leicester then it overlaps with your half term too! 👀 You could definitely be winning some brownie points there!

It's not just for weekends and we have taken under 5s to all these attractions and had a great time. (Also - Under 2s go free to Sea Life, Warwick Castle and Cadbury World and Under 90cm go free to Alton Towers) The opening days vary but there will be some weekdays they are open and it will definitely be quieter!

This nostalgic and super popular event in the Peak District has returned for 2026!

Delighting local families since 1897, the Matlock Bath Illuminations are one of our favourite local events - this is our fourth year in a row attending!

All the boats were marvellous as usual but my winner has got to be Paddington in London! Just Wow!

This takes place on weekends in September and October. Some nights also feature a firework display after the boats too.

Tickets are on sale now and some nights are already sold out!

Adults from £9 and Children only £1
