The 2026 NAHREP Conference was a special one and one of my biggest goals got materialized this year ✨💕 (more on this later).

Every year that I return I am reminded why Latinos are such a powerhouse, contributing so much to the economy, and why it is our duty to protect access to homeownership rights for all.

I really enjoyed this trip along with my peers from the local NAHREP board. As our local chapter keeps growing, we can’t wait to bring back more resources and fun things for next year! 🙌🏼

One of the things I’m most proud of isn’t something you can measure on a production report.

It’s the culture we’ve built together.

“Culture” gets talked about a lot in this industry, and Jonathon Hodgkinson @jonathon.hodgkinson made a great point during our conversation: it’s an easy thing to say, but a much harder thing to actually live every day.

Hearing him describe our team as a family, collaborative, and a place where people genuinely care about each other meant a lot to me.

My goal has always been to create an environment where people feel supported personally and professionally, because I believe when people are in a good place, they’re able to do their best work.

I’m grateful to Jonathon for sharing his experience and even more grateful for the people who make this culture what it is.

Buying a home requires more than planning for the down payment.

You also need to understand your interest rate, loan program, closing costs, and how much money you will actually need at the closing table.

Closing-cost estimates can vary by 1% to 2%. On a $500,000 home, that could mean a difference of $5,000 to $10,000.

Before choosing a lender, make sure you understand what each fee is for, why it is being charged, and whether your money is being used in your best interest.
