About this weekend…

Feeling immensely proud of the premiere of Third Person Scenario. After months of research and rehearsal, endless hours of admin and tech, then 47 minutes of performance (twice), I am feeling nothing but gratitude. Thank you to each person who showed up to see this work, I’m very excited about the community we’re building.

Thank you to each of my collaborators Emily, Kaitlyn, Elinor, and Matthew. Your artistry, creativity, and taste made this work possible. Thank you.

Thank you to @3amtheatre for taking a chance on us. (And saying yes to some crazy choreographer who wanted to spill fake blood all over the stage.) Big shout out to Kyle Driggs for creating some incredible lighting and bringing this work to life.

Thank you to @bookkennison and @22immi for some amazing music and sounds to bring the vision to life.

If you were a part of this process and I did not thank you, blame my mind not my heart.

Third Person Scenario begins with a death, and unfolds as a surreal portrait of a community coping with loss. The work explores the dissonance between subjective truth and collective reality. Though dead, the deceased remains an active presence onstage, continually reshaped by the memories of the people left behind. Contemporary Floorwork AND Floorwork Fundamentals with Isaac Martin Lerner

Contemporary Floorwork with Isaac Martin Lerner is a fluid and physically engaging experience that uses breath, anatomy, and gravity to build power and ease in and out of the floor, guiding dancers from focused exercises into continuous phrasework that emphasizes stamina, endurance, and dynamic flow while challenging the body and leaving you energized.

Floorwork Fundamentals introduces the foundations of contemporary floorwork—how you enter, exit, and travel through the floor with efficiency and clarity. You’ll begin with a group warm-up, then work through a series of “floorwork multi-vitamins” across the space, each exercise layering into a phrase. Fundamentals are essential for every dancer, no matter the level.

Expect to sweat, expect to be challenged, and expect to have fun.

We’ll work through weight, momentum, spirals, transitions, and ways of moving in and out of the floor with more ease, power, and choice.

Sundays, 12–2 PM — Foundation Level Floorwork
A slower, more detailed class for building comfort and confidence on the floor. Great if you’re newer to floorwork or want time to break things down.

Come move, sweat, fall, slide, and figure some things out.

THIRD PERSON SCENARIO is a new evening-length dance theater work created by Isaac Martin Lerner’s Working Title Dance Theater premiering at @3amtheatre on September 25th & 26th

Performed by five dancers, the piece begins with a death and follows those left in its wake as they pick apart the deceased’s legacy. Through athletic contemporary dance, text, and unexpected theatrical images, the performers move through grief, memory, and conflict.

Join us for an evening of physical, tender, and surreal dance theater that asks the question: How do we interpret a life?
