When @weareoval_be invited me, end of 2024, to stage an exhibition of my photo works in their offices, I was reluctant. I had just hosted Rooftop, a show at my home, and I was still scrubbing the shoe sole marks off my floor, courtesy of the approximately 800 people that had roamed the spaces of my apartment.
But then I still hadn’t seen Oval’s workspaces on the 8th, 9th and 10th floor in the centre of Antwerp. What a beautiful building. What a view. And how inviting those high, empty walls! Long story short, I proposed them to install a permanent room, and one thing lead to another. Now there are 30-something works on show - some older, mostly new- competing with the incredible vistas of my beloved Antwerp.
The exhibition runs til the end of September, see the hours and contact below. On appointment also possible!
I would like to thank Jane and Wouter for the faith, the friendliness, and the freedom. This has been, and still is, a very inspiring invitation! Thank you. And, as always, thank you @miloprofi for your boss prints, @offthewall.art for the installation, @dewieuw for the framing, and Wolf for his dedicated work with the lights. Thank you, all! Tom
