Hopefully it convinces a few more people to come see it for themselves. Looks like it’s already working. First Look // @dezeen Chappell Residence Marshfield, PEI The Chappell Residence unites the lives and labours of its builder beneath one roof. Conceived for Brodye Chappell, his wife Rachel, and their young daughter, the house merges domestic life with the discipline of craft—a place where meals, play, and making coexist in close rhythm. Set within the agricultural landscape of Marshfield, Prince Edward Island, the property sits just outside Charlottetown and faces fields shared with horses belonging to Brodye’s parents who live nearby. Under this broad sky, workshop light stretches late into the evening—a home built and lived in with equal devotion. Constructed gradually with the help of friends, colleagues, and trades throughout PEI, the house was realized piece by piece over evenings and weekends. @brza @raychagogo Arch Photography by @michaudfelix_photo Portraits by @carolikina Drone by @caitstairs and @michaudfelix_photo Link in bio! #omargandhiarchitect #architecture #craft #princeedwardisland #construction by @og_architect

For @omar.gandhi, the Practice Is the Project Happiness can seem like an almost frivolous thing to design for, but Canadian architect Omar Gandhi of @og_architect disagrees. Over the past decade and a half, he has built a singular body of work—and a celebrated practice spread across Halifax, Toronto, and Berlin—not by chasing a signature style but by pursuing pleasure in the process, which, as it turns out, breeds joy in the final product. @architizer’s executive editor, Hannah Feniak, talked to Gandhi about his studio’s work, which is defined by a care for construction and attentiveness to material sourcing and is driven by a sense of adventure and spirit of explorative curiosity. Rabbit Snare Gorge This gangly cabin nestled within the dense coastline of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia was designed and developed by our upcoming speaker; Omar Gandhi. Designed in a way to be “light on the land and heavy against the wind,” significant care was taken when positioning the cabin within the site as well as securing various of the roaming trees and the icy ocean. Linked to the local vernacular and the elongated trees surrounding, the stretched form of the house allows for the interior to feel even more spacious and inviting against the rough Nova Scotian weather. Get your tickets now at the link in bio Date: Tuesday, November 10th, 5:30 PM Doors Open: 5 PM Location: @lmntheshop 723 1st Ave Happy Hour to follow at LMN’s the shop #uwarchitecture #uwaias #seattledesignfestival by @og_architect
