One week without Maverick... last Thursday Maverick was put to sleep after he had a sudden onset of a some sort of serious respiratory infection. Unfortunately by the time he showed me he was sick, there was not much we could do to help him.

Maverick lived a shorter life than he should have, but I'm glad I got to love him for the time I did. Maverick taught me more about dogs, patience, and training than any dogs has. He was independent, serious, and stubborn but man he had a goofy side. He was loved widely by more than just me, and I'm so grateful for all that loved him.

He introduced me to a whole new world of dog sports and some of the BEST people I've ever known. He opened doors for me I never thought I'd see.

He was a special dog and I hate that I lost him so young. Nothing prepares you to lose a dog but there is a maverick sized hole in heart. We're taking it day by day, finding our new normal will take some time.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out. I truly am so blessed to have the friends and family I do.

Maverick aka Boopa ❤️
