🏈 $3 MILLION. FIVE YEARS. WHERE’S THE PROGRESS?

In 2021, Waterbury was awarded $3 million in state funding to improve Wilby High School’s football field, including plans for synthetic turf and an eight-lane track.

Fast forward to 2026, and the project remains unfinished. The original plans have changed, the track is no longer part of the current proposal, and our student-athletes are still waiting.

So let’s ask the questions that matter:

🏈 Where does the $3 million stand today?

🏈 How much has been spent on design, consultants, salaries, and project management?

🏈 Why did the original plans change?

🏈 What’s causing the holdup, and when will construction begin?

This is bigger than football. It’s about investing in our youth, following through on commitments, and ensuring public dollars deliver real results.

Our student-athletes deserve a home field. Our community deserves transparency.

Five years later, it’s time for answers.

Michael DiGiovancarlo currently holds all three roles.

So Ollie Gray III is asking a question residents deserve to discuss:

How does one person effectively balance three major positions of public responsibility — and how are potential conflicts of interest handled when those responsibilities overlap?

This isn’t about attacking public service. It’s about ACCOUNTABILITY.

The 74th District deserves representation with the time, focus, and attention necessary to serve its residents.

Justin Verlander’s retirement from baseball and the love he has shown for his daughter is a powerful reminder that some of life’s greatest victories have nothing to do with what happens on the field. ❤️
It’s about the relationships we build and the people we love.
Tonight, I’m praying for fathers and daughters everywhere. 🙏🏾 May God strengthen the beautiful relationship He created between a father and his daughter.
And for every father and daughter whose relationship is broken, strained, or distant, I pray for healing, forgiveness, restoration, and reconciliation.
Fathers, your daughters need to know they are loved. Daughters, your fathers need to know they are important to you.
Never take that relationship for granted. Life is too precious, and tomorrow is never promised.
May God bring healing to families and restore the bonds between fathers and daughters. 🙏🏾❤️
