𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒆 𝒉𝒆 𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒐, @oh.iiisa‘s solo debut is available today. Merging field recordings, poemsongs, and familial voices from their home in Costa Rica, iiisa builds memory portals for the kindling of transformation, and here we see a window into their continually evolving world.

Throughout the ten tracks, iiisa’s quiet contemplation invites the listener to sit with questions around memory, transformation, and intergenerational trauma. Recorded at @pioneerworks, on tour, and in the homes of loved ones, 𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒆 𝒉𝒆 𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒐 is a quiet, unflinching record about what we do with what gets passed down.

“I wanted to offer my voice in the way I hear it when I’m alone,” iiisa shares. “I wanted to bring people into the cave of my mind.”

Out today via Leaving is @oh.iiisa‘s new single ‘pasa y pasará’ from their upcoming album 𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒆 𝒉𝒆 𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒐

Like a prismatic inner dialogue, any sense of an individual dissolves throughout the album. On ‘pasa y pasará,’ we hear recordings of iiisa playing piano in solitude, alongside moments from a conversation between them, their mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Though in close proximity, they remain just out of reach, as if following a shifting thought.
