For the last 4 months, I spent most of my days off on this. It is finally, finally done and in the hands of the local framing department.
I typically feel uncomfortable speaking on my art & prefer to just present it and leave it.

But this was such a ride. It taught me so much and wasn’t something I was just working on, but something I was in love with. From skin tones, to shadows on the flowers, and to overcoming my fear of painting blackberries. This piece challenged me as much as it fulfilled me and grew my confidence in myself as an artist.
I could go on and on about all the things I wish I did differently, or knew how to do differently, but I think I’d like to start silencing that part of myself.
Thank you to everyone who shared in my enthusiasm and excitement for this painting.

IF YOU KNOW WHO THIS IS, PLEASE KEEP UP THE LIE WITH ME THAT IM STILL WORKING ON IT.

Nearing the end of this painting. Michelle is making sure everything is going according to plan, OSHA regulations are being followed, and keeping an eye out for signs of illegal union busting.

I get that I’ve been with this painting the whole way, but I still look at it completely shocked that *I* did that. I think I’m confident that I’m at the halfway point now. Maybe 60%. Up next is the plants.
I guess I should get better at adding hashtags too UGGGHHHHH.

In an effort to post more (and realizing I never posted this) here’s a zine I made in 2024 about blood art and being an official Barcode Member Card Holder. The very idea of posting this is very embarrassing but the doctor page is genuinely in my top 10 favorite things I’ve ever created.
Ft. one of my favorite songs when I was 12 and was going through my barcode initiation. I’d sing the lyrics as “she’s always Avalon, always Avalon.” by @oh.valo

I’m not super great with posing WIP updates but apparently if you want the algorithm to like you, it’s worth a shot. More progress from last week on this painting before I get back into it this week. by @oh.valo

Finally picking up momentum on this painting, strategically planned by starting with the hands. Because I love hands. by @oh.valo
