El Chalten was the most godforsaken place I’ve ever been to. It was 23kms-ish back and forth with a one hour long, steep incline at the end. It was my first ever trek, and I did it alone (alongside 100 other German, Swedish and Swiss hikers), at night, in the cold, on zero sleep, with a half charged head lamp!! I was so proud to have made it to the final viewpoint, I had to do an entire book with the mountain :) by @ohadraps

I’ve been kind of avoiding posting these pictures. I took a lot of time to focus on my physical recovery and to kind of process everything that’s happened…

Deciding to go on this trip was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make, and it was a life altering experience.

We’re nearing my dad’s death anniversary. Only now I understand what they mean by a “year of mourning”. It wasn’t only about pain and sorrow. it was also about finding a way, rediscovering life, and myself, what matters to me and what no longer serves me, and my siblings without my dad… The deck of cards got reshuffled. I got spit out by this raging tornado into this void, this place in the middle of nowhere, where you kind of have to keep walking, to search for a way out.

The first month of the trip was intensely amazing. I got to do and see so many incredible things, meet so many AMAZING people. And then exactly after the Rio carnaval I fell ill, and only now, 5 months later, I feel like I’m starting to regain my strength. In reality, I was sick for the majority of the trip. It wasn’t perfect by all means, but I do believe that everything happens for a reason. By the end of the trip, after eating SO MUCH DULCE DE LECHE 🍯 I felt I had managed to rest deeply, to reflect, and to release a lot of built up pain and grief.

I don’t really know what lies ahead. I’m taking some time to find a footing again. I have the urge to keep traveling and finish what I started, when where and how is TBD. I love learning new languages, immersing myself in a completely unfamiliar environment, not knowing anything, and being baffled by how people live completely different lives than me.

I’m grateful for having lived this experience, and hope to continue carrying this healthy perspective with me everywhere I go. “I have been changed for good… 🧚🪄” by @ohadraps

I let my body lead, and for now, I ended up here.

Those who know me know that this has been one of the most, if not the hardest thing I've ever done. It took so many obstacles and a tremendous internal struggle just to put my butt cheeks on the seat of that plane.

I literally want to thank everyone who supported me and encouraged me to make it this far. It takes a village to raise adults too.

What ever happens from here on out, is a bonus. I already feel like I've won. by @ohadraps

חשיפת המציבה הייתה אתמול. כאילו ב-30, אבל אחרי ה-30 (אנחנו לא עושים שום דבר לפי הספר).

היה משהו מרגש ומעציב בלראות את המצבה. אני גאה באיך שהיא יצאה, ואני מבין אנשים שמרגישים צורך לבקר בקבר כדי להרגיש קרוב יותר, כי אתמול זה גרם לי להרגיש טיפה קרוב יותר, אפילו שאני יודע שאני בתכלס יכול להתקרב אליו מתי שאני רוצה; שהוא איתי, ולא בקבר.

ועדיין, זה העלה שוב קצת עצב, את המקום הזה בחזה. זה הזכיר לי שאין יותר את מי לשתף בדברים הטובים, החשובים והאיזוטריים, שאני יודע שהוא היה שמח לשמוע, כי הוא כל כך דאג לנו, לי, ורצה שיהיה לנו טוב (״שומע אבא, עשיתי עגיל ליום והתחרטתי״, ״אתה לא מבין! היו לי 3 דייטים השבוע והייתי מה זה גאה בעצמי!״…).

עברו כמעט חודשיים, ולא הספדתי את אבא שלי עדיין באמת. אפילו שעבר קצת זמן, ואני כן במקום שכבר מאפשר יותר היווצרות של מילים ומשפטים, עדיין אין מילים מדויקות מספיק. אז אני חושב שהמצבה אומרת הכל… by @ohadraps
