OH ART FOUNDATION × AACM
Before It Is Heard

Renee C. Baker’s solo exhibition produced by OH Art Foundation
Performances by musicians of the AACM
(the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians) @aacm_chicago
Curated by InJung Oh @injungoh and Renée C. Baker

Nov 20th - Dec 13th, 2026

Everything on these walls is music.
Not a painting about music. Not an image inspired by a piece. Music, written down — in a language Renée C. Baker built herself, because the one she was handed could not hold what she needed to say.

A Group Exhibition Opencall available

3rd Annual Black History Festival of the Art (BHFA27) Produced by OH Art Foundation

INSPIRARE
Breathing Life into New Vision
Curated by Juarez Hawkins @studio_rez and Thomas Lucas @printerthomas
Location: OH Art Foundation, 2nd floor gallery of Zhou B Art Center, 1029 W. 35th St., Chicago, IL 60609
Exhibition Dates: January 15th 2027 – March 14, 2027
Apply by December 13th, 2026
Notification by December 22nd, 2026
Opening Reception: Friday January 15th, 2027, 7pm-10pm

60 years ago, Black artists, writers, poets, performers, and philosophers came together to forge a vision of what Black life could become. Collectively, they breathed life into their vision, creating art movements and building institutions.
What does Black Power mean in a time of dwindling access and rising racism? We are seeking works that respond to the legacy of the Black Arts Movement, works that breathe life into a new vision for Black America while speaking our self-evident truths to power.
