Had such a lovely bookish weekend right before the school year started again!

First was @maggie_stiefvater at Books Inc in SF, then a wonderful bookish meetup with @caricanread at an adorable new bookstore @thelovepotionlibrary! Had a great time chatting with bookish folks, everyone was kind and fun and interesting. Feeling refreshed, revived, and grateful to have events like this near me.

Spring break in Oregon had a lot of good parts, but a big highlight was getting to be there for this little guy's first zoo trip. He was a big fan of the giraffes, bald eagles, flamingos, and the dandelions in the lion enclosure. by @ohbthr

Some sad news to share. After over twelve years of companionship, my sweet boy Smudge took a turn for the worse.

While it seemed at first to be temporary, it eventually became clear that he was not going to get better. Rather than wait until he was truly in pain, we made the decision to safely and softly let him go on Sunday.

I am simultaneously devastated and okay. To everyone that's known and loved him over the years, thank you. He's been my best boy for so long and the house truly feels too quiet without him. by @ohbthr

Yesterday we said farewell to our sweet old man Hubert. We feel sad and miss him today, but feel so lucky that we got to love him and be so loved by him for as long as we did. He was a champion, and he went out peacefully at home after a good day of lots of love and multiple cheeseburgers. Goodbye, sweet angel Boobert, you will be very missed. 💜 by @ohbthr

Natasha's recently discovered the oversized beanbag in the library and it's too cute

(Immediately after taking this she yelled at me until I joined her so she could crawl in my lap and demand pets. Summer vacation is going great.)

Yesterday @ashclargo and I got a little fancy, got our family and a few close friends together in the redwoods, and promised to spend the rest of our lives together. To everyone that's ever accidentally called Ash my wife, you are now retroactively correct.
