October Watchlist #5
Sleepaway Camp 2

While the original is a regular watch in our household, number 2 deserves a watch every once in a while. For fans of gratuitous nudity, horrible acting, and murder sprees.

#2 on the October watch list.
Halloween (1978)

This early printing was recently added to the collection and we are very proud to have it on our shelves. This movie helped pioneer the slasher genre and continues to inspire horror movies and fans of them almost 50 years later. We usually save a Halloween movie until the end of the month, but felt it necessary to start the month off with one and set the mood for the next few weeks.

First watch of October
The Wicker Man

Beautiful and disturbing can rarely be pulled off in the same film, yet this one nails them both. Unfortunately Nicholas Cage is absent in the original version, but Christopher Lee displays a master craft of villainy as he always does. This 4k version released in 2023 looks incredible on the screen and in your hands. One of the highlights in our collection for sure.

Time to hunker down and watch some scary movies. This year we went a harder lean into our favorites while only leaving a little room for some that haven't been seen. We've been picking up a lot of VHS copies of our favorites recently and really wanted to put them to good use rather than just look cool on the shelf. Physical media is important now more than ever and curating this small part of our collection has been insanely fun. We have one movie still in the mail and another we will be seeing in Theatres, but this is our watch list for the month.

The Wicker Man
Halloween (1978)
The Descent
Sleepaway Camp 2
Rear Window
One Hour Photo
Near Dark
Maniac
The Devils (Theatre)
Return of the Living Dead
Phenomena (Not pictured but ordered 4k)
Suspiria
Dead Alive
Young Frankenstein
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Nightmare on Elm Street 2 Freddy's Revenge
Friday the 13th Part 2
Trick r' Treat by @ohdarlingemily

A year ago today I made the decision to make some changes in my life. Needless to say it’s been one of the most challenging and rewarding years of my life. I feel extremely blessed to have the family and friends that I have that supported me along the way. I seem to have seen it all this year through losing loved ones, to changing my career path, and ultimately focusing my time and energy on mine and my Husbands business, I’ve experienced the highest highs and lowest lows of it all. I’m not big on making my shit public but I’m so proud of myself for following my goals and achieving them even in the most hardest times. My Husband, Bestie and my whole Family were all able to make it out to the beach yesterday for a very special celebratory bonfire. Which I am very grateful. I couldn’t have asked for a better day. Heres to taking it one day at a time! ❤️‍🔥 by @ohdarlingemily

My little splash of Gail! She always loved her garden but the flowers are what brought her joy. The night she passed the only flowers in bloom were her Bleeding hearts. This plant was the last thing her mortal body touched as she left her home. Today for me it’s a symbol of her and how she found the humor and beauty in all things. She taught me so much and I will forever be grateful that @mdiddyoien shared her with me and how she took me in as one of her own with open arms! @rluderstattoo really slayed this piece! I am beyond grateful! by @ohdarlingemily

Before and after photos: Some of you might have seen @mdiddyoien story about the piece he picked up at an Estate Sale this morning. We are in love! Matt ended up meeting the previous owner and she told him about how the human skull used to be an old study specimen in a high school science class. They ended up using it as a Halloween decoration for many years, hence the candle wax. After an intensive deep clean he is looking like his best self. There is a burn mark on the top of the skull cap that might be impossible to remove but the imperfections make him a bit more charming. Super happy to bring him into our collection.
