I can’t convince her otherwise, either 😂

What if 👀👀👀

This year, we tried copywork. Not the “right” way according to charlotte mason. Just the way that suits us. I write something down and he copies it.

At first, I had to sit with him and help with each individual letter. Now he’s doing so well that we’re bringing in grammar too!!

A kid who could barely write his name at the start of the year is now ASKING to do copywork with me.

We notice things and talk about them. It can help with handwriting practice, spelling, grammar, and more.

It might not be for everyone, but doing this instead of boxed language arts curriculum works wonderfully for our neurodivergent household!!

Have you ever tried copywork before? Let me know in the comments!! ⤵️ by @ohhelloamber

Homeschool planning has felt a bit crazy to figure out 🤪

But here’s where I’ve landed as a homeschool mama to a bunch of kiddos.

🗓️ Trying out the monthly planning method from @simply.learning.together in hopes it works better lol.

📋 Reviewing things weekly to plan the more specific planning. I was already doing this but I think doing ALL the planning at once is too much!!

☀️ Daily flexibility is the biggest thing. We have a house full of neurodivergent brains, a toddler, and a baby. There is NO WAY we are sticking to rigid plans!

The goal for us is to just make progress towards our competencies. And that can happen no matter what each day looks like.

How do you like to plan things?

It’s the best decision we could have made ❤️ I can’t even imagine not doing it anymore 🥹 by @ohhelloamber

Today we combined geography and an art lesson and had so much fun. (After the meltdowns over handwriting anyway lol)

While it NEVER goes perfect, I’m aiming to build an environment that feels creative, rich with literature, full of laughs, and SOOO much fun. 🥰

If that’s your vibe too, you’re in the right place. ✨
