jack & maurielle of @softlimitcinema took their name from the bdsm term for something you’re willing to try if the mood is right and all parties enthusiastically consent. it’s also a nod to how they recontextualise films from a point of interest around sex and the body. so far they’ve screened american pie with a q&a, and are now running a season of three black and white films at @the_cinema_museum from e.a. dupont, the 1920s german crazy who bounced between london and hollywood. expect live scores, a 16mm print flown in from nyc, and possibly some nudity…eek! they’re part of a wider london screening scene alongside @gpsurgeryldn, @siren.screen and @categoryhfilms wednesday has their first screening of the bfi restoration of piccadilly (1929) with a live score, then variety (1925) + a mystery 16mm short and finally, the neanderthal man (1953)… by @ohitsjack
