♥️ ¡5 AÑOS! SATURDAY, OCT 10 ♥️ @tropicorama_ turns 5! This year we’re taking over La Milagrosa @lamilagrosabk_ for the first time, celebrating 5 years of Latin & Caribbean culture in NYC from 7PM to 3AM ✨

We’re starting early with LA CLAVE 🇻🇪🇨🇴 @laclavesalsa 💃 @_vaiina & @adrianishungry 🕺🏻 the celebrated Brooklyn all-vinyl salsa party, taking over 7PM–10PM with timeless records, barrio classics and the energy of salsa on wax.

From 10PM, the dancefloor goes full TROPICORAMA with a powerhouse lineup: Ultraviolet @djultraviolet_ 🇩🇴, Madkick @mad_kick 🇻🇪, Rogue @ohrogue 🇦🇷 and Chris @staykoolfool 🇨🇴🇵🇷, moving from the classics that shaped us to the newest underground club sounds shaping how we party in New York 🪩

💥 But Tropicorama is always more than music. Our friends at CAPICU! @capicunyc bring the dominoes, Jimmy Flamante @jimmy_flamante tattoos live throughout the night, and Braids by @balletdetonantzin brings traditional 🇲🇽 Mexican ribbon braids, alongside pop-ups from @loly.roots @roots_artstudio , @kuzumborecords and @pjdesigncrew ✨

The Tropicorama Exhibition / 5 Years brings flyers, images, videos and memories back into the night 🫶🏽 a look at the parties, people and moments that have carried Tropicorama across New York since the beginning. The anniversary will also be seen through the lens of @izaelflores13 capturing the night through his analog photography, while @rodrigo_ny5 documents the celebration through photo and video, leaving us with a visual memory of the night.

And of course, year five wouldn’t be complete without the golden anniversary piñata 🪅. Right in the middle of Hispanic Heritage Month, this one brings together the DJs, artists, makers, projects and people who keep Latin & Caribbean culture moving in New York 🌴✨

Alrighty lads, this recap of the last episode of “Fish Food for Drum Machines” has been long overdue and I apologize for that, but allow me to say that this episode was an amazing time!!

Despite not having my voice at full strength (hence the mask that day) I still got to play some of my favorite records/samples while sporting a shirt from @anythingfresh (many thanks again!) and @ohrogue came through once again with her “Planet Rogue” vibes & an impeccable selection of music!!! She absolutely killed her set on the show lads & I’m very grateful she was able to come through and rock!! (She also put @serato to amazing use & sold me on the need to rock that when applicable!) Definitely tap in with her and all her endeavors from her DJing to her artwork - she’s worldwide now and still moving on up!!

The full replay can be found at the link in my bio - feel free to check it out if you haven’t yet!

“Fish Food for Drum Machines” will return to @hnt.fm on October 4th, and God willing the current plan to dive even deeper into the underground will hold!! It’s gonna be another amazing sonic adventure!! (I’m not sponsored by Sega but now I want to play “Jet Set Radio” -iykyk)

(Also, there are plans for more shows down the line God willing, and I’m pleased to remind you I’ll be in Weslaco, TX on Oct. 24 to rock a beat set for “The Main Thing” curated by Lexly Nirvana! Tap in if anyone from that area happens to be looking at this!)

Happy crate digging lads!! There’s excellence to be found everywhere!!
