Building on Vista x64’s established art-rock nervous energy, the song incorporates linear dance music elements to push the band’s sound into new territory.Inspired by the ancient anecdote of Diogenes of Sinope’s meeting with Alexander the Great, the band modernizes the encounter with sarcastic undertones. Driven by a grooving rhythm section, harsh guitar and saxophone textures, and unhinged, off-kilter screams, Swimming Pool embodies the inherent inconsistencies of a life of wealth, ease, and the burden that comes from self-appointed superiority. Von SRF Sounds kürzlich als Supergroup des «Schweizer Indie-Rocks» bezeichnet, besticht die Band mit einem energetischen, hybriden Sound: mal hymnisch und elektronisch, mal treibend und tanzbar. Auf dem Nachfolgewerk ihres vielbeachteten Debüts „Bodysemantics“ präsentieren sie ehrliche Songs über die vielen Mosaike des Lebens. -----Die Geschichte ist simpel. Zwei Studierende der Hochschule der Künste Bern treffen sich wöchentlich, um das zu tun, was ihnen im Studium nicht beigebracht wird: Gewagte und unkonventionelle Popsongs schreiben. Zehn Jahre später, nach ihrem Umzug nach Zürich haben sich Belia Winnewisser und Rolf Laureijs endlich wieder im Studio zusammengefunden. OUT TODAY // @silverfirs - 𝑳𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔Given Silver Firs’ often rather cryptic songs, the story behind Linen and Tears is surprisingly intimate: singer Elmiger wrote it as a lullaby for his young daughter. However, the song ended up having a rather impractical, energizing effect on her.Lyrically, the track is just as unguarded.
