⚡️ It’s finally here!

A huge thank you to Derek, Jess, Dino, my Local 804 family, Akeylah, and the entire TVO Kids crew. From the writers to the camera operators, every part of this experience was incredible.

The day was fantastic, the episode turned out phenomenal, and let’s just say the camera crew understood the assignment. 🥰😉

I’m so grateful to have been part of this opportunity. If you couldn’t tell already, education is one of my biggest passions.

One thing about me: I’ll always keep climbing the ladder of life.

I’m only getting started. ⚡️

More than just a competition project. JJK STYLE 😉

When @stc_canada Part-Time Electrical students were challenged to compete against full-time electrical programs from 6 GTA campuses, they didn’t just build something—they built it together.

🌸 Their vision: an EMT flower constructed entirely from conduit and electrical components.

Throughout the project, students collaborated on design, problem-solved through challenges, applied skills learned in class, and focused on delivering a clean, code-conscious final product.

This project represents what trades education is all about:

⚡️ Workmanship
⚡️ Teamwork
⚡️ Creativity
⚡️ Pride in your craft

As an instructor, watching the students take ownership of the project and bring their ideas to life was the most rewarding part.

POV: I keep trying to be a girly girl… but the woMAN in me always chooses the jobsite. ⚡️👷🏾‍♀️

Don’t get me wrong—I love getting dressed up, doing my makeup, and feeling feminine.

But there’s something about putting on my work boots, grabbing my tools, and building something with my own two hands that makes me feel the most like me.

Being feminine and being strong were never meant to cancel each other out.

I’ve learned that I don’t have to choose between soft and capable.
I can wear heels one day and steel toes the next.
I can love lipstick and live for the smell of fresh cut metal and a completed install.

The woman in me isn’t defined by what I wear.

She’s defined by what she’s willing to build.(on and off the field 😏)

If you’re still figuring out who you are, remember this: you don’t have to fit anyone else’s definition of what a woman should look like.

In the trades, you’re only as efficient as the tools you have. ⚡️

My old roto-split cutter finally gave out on site, so it was time for an upgrade. This time I’m giving the Southwire AC90 Roto-Split Cutter a shot.

It’s backed by a lifetime warranty, so we’ll see if it lives up to the hype. 👀

Here’s hoping it makes installs a little faster this week.

Everyone wants more responsibility… until responsibility starts signing your name beside the mistakes too. 😅

It’s one of those lessons no one really explains.

As apprentices, we’re eager for more opportunities—and we should be. But with every new level of trust comes a new level of accountability.

The good news? Don’t let your mistakes hold you back. They’re part of becoming a better tradesperson.

As you grow in the trade, you naturally slow down. You ask more questions. You double-check your work. Not because you’re less confident—but because you understand what’s at stake… and you know you’ll hear about it if you get it wrong. 😂

Growth in the trades isn’t about never making mistakes. It’s about learning from them, earning trust, and becoming someone others can count on.

Some of the most valuable lessons in this trade aren’t about bending conduit or pulling wire—they’re about learning how to receive feedback.

As an instructor, I tell my students:

“If you think I’m being harsh, this is probably the nicest it’s ever going to be said to you.”

Not because the trades should be harsh, but because the jobsite won’t always soften the message. I’d rather prepare my students with honesty and respect than have someone else deliver the lesson the hard way.

So when a seasoned tradesperson tells you to brush up on something… listen. 👀

The feedback that stings the most is often the feedback that helps you grow the fastest.

The fastest way to stay where you are? Never ask for what you want.

I’ve seen it happen over and over again.

People want to learn a new skill.
Take on a bigger role.
Move to a different crew.
Apply for a promotion.

But they never say anything.

Here’s the truth:

Nobody can help you get where you want to go if they don’t know where you’re trying to go.

Yes, asking is uncomfortable.
Yes, you might hear “no.”
But don’t let that stop you.

Here’s how to push past the fear:

✔️ Don’t make “no” mean “never.”
Sometimes it’s not the right time—it doesn’t mean you’re not capable.

✔️ Measure courage, not outcomes.
Every time you ask, you’re building confidence. That’s a win, regardless of the answer.

✔️ Ask yourself this instead:
“What’s it going to cost me if I never ask?”

That question has changed more careers than rejection ever has.

One conversation can change your entire path.

People see the way you dress.

Sometimes they’re right.

The best part about being yourself is that you never have to fit someone else’s expectations.

You don’t owe anyone a stereotype.

The trades will challenge you. That’s the point‼️

Showing up consistently. Being reliable. Learning from mistakes. Solving problems when things don’t go as planned.

Every trade has easy days and hard days. Experience is what makes difficult work look routine.

Safety is never something we take for granted. Every worker deserves to make it home at the end of the day, and my respect goes out to those whose lives have been changed by workplace accidents.

The people who succeed aren’t always the most naturally talented—they’re the ones who keep showing up, keep learning, and keep improving.
