Bringing a camera with me everywhere other than my phone has been so fun recently. It has definitely made me more intentional with taking photos. It may not be for everyone, but if it is you, then I highly suggest finding a digital or film point-and-shoot.

Whenever I look at where I am with my creative things, whether that is guitar, photography, or whatever, I always tend to be really critical of myself. I have these expectations and think that I should be way better than I am and that I am failing as a creative person.

And there’s no rule saying you have to be good at something to try it. That certainly takes some pressure off. But obviously, it’s okay to challenge yourself if you want to reach certain goals or just improve overall.

One thing for me is that I don’t think I’ve allowed myself the time it takes to grow in something. I tend to want to do it perfectly the first time, and I think over time that has caused me not to try certain things or share anything because I worry about what other people will think.

So I’ve been trying to shift my mindset on that. I know that to reach goals, you need to put in the time, gain experience, and fail a little bit so you can grow. And honestly, that has been helping me recently. So I’m just going to keep creating things. And you should too. Or don’t. Because you make your own rules. by @ohtucky

I started playing guitar in middle school, which has been for about 20 years or so now. That sounds insane to me.

Music has been pretty important to me my whole life. My dad is a musician, plays piano and a few other instruments. I learned a lot about music from him, but I eventually became interested in playing guitar, and I’ve stuck with that ever since.

I’ve been around the Denver music scene for about 8 years now, and there are so many amazing musicians and great music here in Denver. I’ve honestly felt pretty lucky to be around musicians and artists who genuinely love the community here and just want to have fun playing and sharing their art.

Recently, I’ve been in a little bit of a creative rut, and it’s honestly been seeing the things that people around me are making that has encouraged me to want to get back to creating and invest in the things I enjoy doing.

Hey there, I’m Austin, and I am a creative person. Well, I try to do a lot of different creative things.

I strum the old six-string, I enjoy soldering, I take photos and videos, and overall just enjoy art, music, and creativity.

It’s hard to figure out how to share your creative voice with the world. I don’t think I feel natural anytime I share anything online. I get imposter syndrome, worry about what other people will think, and honestly, with everything going on in the world, it feels strange to be posting anything online.

But I think there’s a lot of good that can come from sharing our lives with each other. Even if that is just sharing projects, talking about music, gear, or anything to do with creativity. Art connects us, and I think we need to hear more from each other.

There are already a lot of people putting in time and energy to be harmful and spread negative ideas. So, I feel like we need to be proactive about being good to each other and looking out for one another.

I’ve been wanting to share more things like this recently and work more on fun projects, but I’ve really just been moving my timeline and pushing it off every time I get close to creating more. Making a lot of excuses. Thanks for checking this out and for hanging out in this little corner of the internet 🫶 by @ohtucky
