My Afara Reflections: Lesson 3

Today, @ojovictorr joined me to share a special lesson from day three.

Our responsibility as educators should never end at the classroom door. We are not just teaching academic content, we are actively mentoring young lives. When we step up as mentors, we make the entire classroom experience richer and far more impactful for everyone involved.

How do you build mentorship into your daily teaching? Share your thoughts in the comments below! 👇

🏆 The only NYSC Corps member awarded a grant by the Ondo State Government. #2024

Some moments deserve to be shared, no matter how long ago they happened.

Reflecting on my NYSC service year (2023–2024) reminds me that impact doesn't have an expiration date. 🏆✨

Grateful. Truly grateful. 🙏🏽

My NYSC service year started like every other Corps member's. I served as a regular Corps member and later as an Assistant CLO, simply trying to identify problems worth solving. Along the way, I learned that when God places you in a space, He also gives you the wisdom to see opportunities, the courage to act, and the grace to make a difference.

One part of my story many people don't know is that I served late. Most of my university classmates had already completed NYSC. At the time, it didn't make sense to me. But today, I can confidently say that God's timing was perfect. If I had served earlier, perhaps I wouldn't have experienced everything that followed.

📌 Slide 1–2: A moment I'll never forget. I was honored by the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, with a special recognition and a grant for my contributions during my NYSC service year. I was humbled to be the only NYSC Corps member awarded a grant by the Ondo State Government that service year. It was a powerful reminder that sincere service and meaningful impact never go unnoticed. 🏅💰

📌 Slide 3: I noticed that many Corps members wanted to learn digital skills but couldn't afford the training. So, I secured a ₦6 million scholarship that enabled 50 Corps members to learn UI/UX design. The success of that initiative later contributed to the launch of a ₦100 million scholarship programme for 1,000 Corps members. 🚀

📌 Slides 4–6: Another challenge was funding. Many Corps members had brilliant ideas but lacked the capital to bring them to life. I organized grant training sessions, and together we worked relentlessly—late nights, weekends, and countless hours of preparation—because we believed their ideas deserved a chance.

📌 Slide 7: The hard work paid off. The team emerged first place, securing ₦500,000 in grant fun by @ojovictorr

✨ Highlight of My Year ✨

A moment I’ll cherish forever—the sitting Governor of Ondo State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, saluting me, Victor Ojo, a humble NYSC Corps member.

This gesture means the world to me and represents the power of service, dedication, and impact.

As Albert Einstein said, “Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”

I believe true impact lies in giving back and serving with purpose.

Oh, and it comes with an award too!
😉 Stay tuned for all the details next year.

I am truly honored and grateful for this recognition. 💚

A truly rare and notable event

Awards are like gentle nudges from the universe, encouraging you to keep blazing your trail, inspiring others, and uplifting the brave young souls who dare to face Nigeria's challenges head-on.

Whenever I contemplate trading my path for a simpler one, maybe relocating to a distant country, my heart whispers a reminder: The UK and US weren't built in a day; they were crafted by the daring and few bold people.

Success knows no shortcuts, only the enduring cocktail of perseverance, diligence, persistence, hard work, smart work, and a dash of favor.

Every endeavor, I strive for excellence, aiming to be the very best in all I do.

My dream you ask? To weave a tapestry of tomorrow's Nigeria, one that truly matters.

Gratitude swells in me as I accept this award, presented by an esteemed Executive Director of @WEMABank Nigeria, the country's pioneering innovative bank.

WEMA BANK recognizes the work we do at Favourite Doctor and, more importantly, the impact it has on the lives of Nigerians.

This accolade pushes us to connect with seasoned professionals, learn from their wisdom, and refine our solutions to tackle the unique challenges that face our beloved Nigeria. 🇳🇬✨ #BuildingTheNigeriaOfTomorrow #AwardWinningJourney #Inspiration #NigerianSolutions taken in Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island by @ojovictorr

🌟 Let's Talk About HIV and Our Youth 🌟

Hey everyone! 👋 Today, we're shedding light on a crucial topic: HIV and its impact on young adolescents. 🤔

🔴 HIV Awareness Matters:
HIV doesn't discriminate, and it's essential to arm our youth with the knowledge they need to protect themselves. 💪

📚 Knowledge is Power:
Young people need accurate information about HIV. By sharing relevant healthcare information, we empower them to make informed decisions about their sexual health. 🧠💡

❤️ Love and Support:
Let's create a safe, judgment-free space where adolescents can ask questions and seek guidance. Let's show them that they are loved and supported no matter what. ❤️🤗

💪 Taking Action:
Educate, share resources, and encourage regular testing. Together, we can reduce the risk of HIV in our young generation. 🙌

🚨 Increasing Risks:
With the changing dynamics of relationships and the rise of social media, our youth are exposed to new risks. It's more important than ever to address these challenges head-on. 📱❌🙅‍♂️

Remember, knowledge and open conversations are key. Let's protect our youth and ensure they have a brighter, healthier future. 🌈💪 #HIVAwareness #YouthHealth #KnowledgeIsPower #YAahnaija #unicefnigeria #naca taken in Abuja, Nigeria by @ojovictorr

If you have ever wondered what Genesis 1: 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
(NIV) and what, Genesis 1: 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light (NIV) meant, I hope this video gives more context. You will see the beautiful creation and why it took a day to create.

A billion Galaxies and he is still God over them all.

I believe Now you will understand why this verse reads : what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? Psalm 8:4.

And also why Romans 1:20 says "For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God"

God's word is ever true, and He constantly reminds me of this every day.

He always tells me to trust and love Him.

Today, Sunday, He reminded me about Daniel in the Bible.

Though Daniel was a prominent figure serving in various high positions in Babylonia, he never forgot his roots.

He was unswayed by his exalted positions, remaining rooted in humility and unashamedly bearing the title of a friend of God. He was one who devoted himself to prayer and fasting.

I am unapologetic to be called a lover and a friend of God. by @ojovictorr
