The trailer for my graduation film, Bont en Blauw, about police violence at protests in the Netherlands. Made on paper, with pencil, airbrush and oilpaints. Today is the last day you can visit HKU Oudenoord to see my work! Thanks so much to everyone who has already visited, and all your kind words and appreciations. I can't believe school is already over, and I'm curious to see what the future holds. Big news! I am graduating from my bachelors in animation :) Bont en Blauw is a short animated doc about police violence at protests in the Netherlands. The film is analogue, made with pencil and airbrush animation, including some shots in oilpaint and riso. The 26th-28th of June you’re welcome to view my film at The exposure in HKU Oudenoord. Finally! The Miles end of year film, with subtitles for all my English friends. A film about the current student housing crisis in the Netherlands. Middeleeuwse toestanden or Medieval circumstances I hope you enjoy. #animation #tvpaintcommunity #tvpaint #gouache #acrylicpainting #blender3d #blender by @okapi_miles

As a kid I had a mild obsession with wanting to climb into these electricity pylons during bike and hike trips through the dutch grasslands. Of course I never did, and of course many adults warned me and pressed me on never trying. But the allure was always very strong. I had forgotten this memory until I sat down to paint this landscape. It’s weird how memories can sometimes find you again after leaving you for so long. #gouache #painting #illustrations #illustrationartist by @okapi_miles

Figure painting lately.. I really enjoy the process, going into a mood that is both focussed and relaxed. #figuredrawing #figures #painting🎨 by @okapi_miles

Line drawings from Berlin! The one's I did of @oraculuuu were even done while standing and dancing, which is probably why they're so groovy. #drawdrawdraw #drawingart #figuredrawing by @okapi_miles

I did some live painting on the highway overpass. Turns out it's really loud there.. Even at night. Still I love warm summer nights. I am going to miss them dearly. Good luck to everyone in the coming 6 months, see you in may! #illustrationartist #illustrations #gouache #painting🎨 #paintingart #gouacheart by @okapi_miles

Hey lovely people, I recently did a try out for a children's book about a mama bear and a baby bear. I think the sketches turned out quite nice! Let's hope it becomes a reality. BTW! I just graduated and am looking for work. Let me know if you know of something cool. Will make a proper "Looking for work" post soon. #illustratorsoninstagram #illustrationartist #illustrations #gouache #painting🎨 by @okapi_miles

A brand new video work Bont en Blauw by @okapi_miles joins WORLD PRi̶d̶e̶OTEST running till 23 Aug. Come over if you haven’t yet! Miles Dinjens @okapi_miles is an animation filmmaker, activist and socialist. He prefers to work on paper, using gouache and oil paint, risograph printing and acrylic paint, and, since starting this project, also with an airbrush. He creates three-dimensional works using wood, metal and ceramics. As an Armenian-Dutchman, Miles enjoys cycling and always misses the mountains. Through his work, Miles aims to show the average Dutch person that they too can make a greater impact than they ever imagined. In his graduation project, Miles explores one of possible paths forward by interviewing two activists. Bont en Blauw is a video work about a world in which radical, systematic change is possible; a world in which we do not have to accept that genocide is being committed or oppression facilitated in our name. taken in No Limits Art Castle by @okapi_miles

I realised I forgot to make a real post out of this little test I did. The final movie is coming along slowely, but nicely! The style is a bit diffirent from what you see here, but the airbrush is still involved. If everything goes according to plan, you will see the final result in summer! Bisous!! #airbush #animationart #animations by @okapi_miles
