03. Intoxicated — Memories (EP)

a couple weeks shy of being 4 years (cozy) sober, and my new song intoxicated hittin’. I stopped drinking on accident, and since then I realized that love is a much better drug. this song was born from that feeling; a crush that makes your heart blush, vomiting up all those butterflies in your stomach, being intoxicated from infatuation, you know?

super specifically, this song happened when I declined a drink offered by a gorgeous girl, and even though I don’t drink I realized I somehow felt drunk. and then I asked my self why. when I got home that night, I laid in bed with my guitar and a lovely chord progression and a few words stumbled out of my mouth.. and that’s where the opening lyrics came from.

for me, this song is a reminder to open your heart, smile for no reason, and do whatever makes you happy.
